Was the dented corner near where the box was torn?  It looks to have been pretty well packaged.  Perhaps it was opened at the customs, and the people there weren't too careful? :(  At least it's black-anodized, so I think concealing that dent might not be too bad with some creative filling / painting.

It actually wasn't packaged very well at all. There was no padding on the sides, and the dent is where the package busted open. Also the quality of the packaging (box, etc) is pretty poor, thin and flimsy.
When you ship a heavy item like this, extra care should be taken to ensure the box doesn't fall apart and that every side of the item is fully protected.

Pretty sure customs will leave a note or something notifying you that they opened it. Well at least they did last time something of mine was searched here in Canada.

Ah yeah, wasn't immediately obvious in terms of overall dimensions--looked like a big box with lots of wrap.  Sorry it happened :( :(  My LZ-GH sends its condolences.

That's what they do in my country, they tape it with a note that the package was opened in customs.

At last!  Congratulations - looking good :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Wow!  That bronze Slo-fi!!!!

It's called "Merlot" and in addition to having that bronze-ish color on top the bottom is that translucent maroon color, which I hear is actually UV-active.  Binge makes some pretty intricate caps, to say the least.  :D

I'm gonna burst some bubbles T-T... merlot (red translucent base) is not UV sensitive.  Absinthe (green translucent base) is UV sensitive.  The material on top is 80% silver 18% nickel 2% copper.  It goes have a bronzish hue probably from the translucent red urethane it is mixed with.  I am sorry for any confusion :(

Man I can't believe they thought that would be sufficient packaging Bro! I've been doing a lot of shipping lately and I pretty much always double box. Can't trust postal services to treat packages nicely so you have to prepare for the absolute worst.

Have you had any luck contacting them? If that was sent from Redline then they'll never be getting any business from me.
« Last Edit: Sun, 26 January 2014, 04:03:24 by bueller »
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Oh no!  Luckily it's still a beautiful cap and I didn't get it only for that reason.  :)  Thanks for clearing the confusion though.

:D I posted a classifieds thread about it actually. Buying MX Blue boards for everything gets a little boring, and I did want to try a 60%, so this seemed like the perfect thing. It's quite to my liking; not as thocky as I hoped, but still a great keyboard. It'll probably be shifting with my Shine when I'm playing or typing at night, to not bother others.

Glad to see you've finally allowed yourself to enjoy Topre. 660C is as good as it gets in terms of 45g Topre feel. Truly a pleasurable typing experience. Flip the feet up/on to increase the thock.
