The photograph doesn't do it justice but I'm getting ready to travel and need to pass out. I bought a KingSaver from another member of the forum. I've got about 8000 characters on it so far and it feels and sounds amazing.

It's smaller than had I anticipated; I like it so far.

They're dyesubbed PBT from a Wang 724 terminal keyboard. The KingSaver was an Alps custom that required the Wang as a donor board for keycaps and stabilizers and in most cases switches, although they can be swapped for other Alps or Matias switches as some folk have done.

Nice! What sort of Alps does it have?

The board was originally built by ListoKei (It has had another owner since) and I think they're salmon Alps since ListoKei referred to them as pink and that's what most Wang keyboards had. I'm orange-pink colorblind though so if they were orange I likely would never know. They feel a *lot* like my Apple Extended Keyboard II which I also think is salmon Alps.

I'll bring it to a Bay Area meetup and get a second opinion!

Small aside, the common variant of Wangs had black alps, not salmon.

My apologies. I was going by the "Most Wang 724" in the Keyboards section of the linked DT wiki article on Salmon Alps.

How do you like the game?

I'm not the best person to ask tbh... but it's pretty awesome. People having been calling it a demo, which is really not right at all. It's like the GT5 Prologue only there is a lot more to do and more to play with. The new controls take a while to get used to, as does the new AI and tools you have. But it's pretty great, and the PS3 version is by far the best looking and running PS3 game I've played... which is impressive given the scale of the map and the draw distance.

I received a Siig Minitouch with Monterrey Blue ALPS, like new in the box.

I wasn't sure if I would like this board, but man, it's pretty great. These switches are a less pingy, less shrill, crunchier and more satisfying version of MX Blues. Kind of like MX Blues meet buckling springs. It's a shame they aren't more widely available.

The layout is pretty good too. Weird rightmost column, but I remapped those to pgup/down/home/end.

Question is, though, does it beat your Model F?
btw, from looking in your sig I can tell you have very good taste in switches. Which do you think feels the best?

To me, Montereys are quite different from buckling spring. I do like typing on Montereys a bit more though.

But you have to have the right keyboard with them.  They're really nice switches, but feel like crap if you use them on something like a KB-5181 since the keyboard has so much flex and wobble and actually creaks while you use it.

Thanks. I think if I were forced to pick one, I would choose the Model F. It's really hard to beat capacitive buckling springs. Also, dat build quality. But, the Monterrey Blues are probably the only other switch I have tried that come close.

Yes, I would not say that these feel like buckling springs themselves. More like if buckling springs had a babay with MX blues.

Yes and there might be more undiscovered boards out there too, but they're not common.  They're quite nice feeling once they're broken in and they're quieter than MX Blues in my experience.  You just need a solid board for them like the Siig.

Came with a defect unfortunately. Only works when plugged halfway in, loses connection all the time etc. Doesn't work at all when plugged all the way in. (Actually it worked for 10 seconds ONCE, until I moved my keyboard a tiny bit and then lost connection). :<

I got this amazing custom painted Filco top from Photoelectric. However, it seems that the Filco Zero is slightly different dimensions from a standard Filco TKL. I've spent some time sanding it to fit but it's taking some time. Mostly it's taking a while since I don't want to damage the top cover since it's so nice. Thanks Photoelectric!!
