Does this have GON's 62g springs in it? You mentioned that it has 62.5.

If so just curious if these are the same ones he is selling on his website as 62g?

What are you going to lube? The stabs and the housing stem? Does it make a big difference?

You want to lube the inner railing of the switch housing which the Topre plunger runs along. This removes much of the feeling and sound of friction you get when you press down on a Topre switch. This means you'll feel mainly just the cup rubber~<3 Provides for a more butter experience for something that's already so smooth~

Is there any particular lube that you would recommend using? I'm all settled up with my modified HHKB layout (went back to 45g though, 55g feels better but it kills my joints), so now it's time to lube it up.

I'm sorry to hear you went through all the work to find that 55g was too stiff for you :(  It is rather strange though because 55g does feel stiffer in the HHKB. Might have to do with the higher profile of the keyboard.

I used a personal ratio mixture of Krytox GPL203 oil + GPL201 grease, but the most popular option now seems to be the ones sold on the EK site. So I would say that might be somewhat safe to do :)

I used the Krytox Extra Thick blend from MK.com and am very happy with how it made my 55g RF feel. I found it seems to work best to apply a pretty thick layer after testing a light coating and not really noticing a difference. I used somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 of the tube on just the slider rails and then used some additional to lube the stab wires. Mine definitely feels smoother and is quieter now, but tactility stayed pretty much the same or very close to it. It has totally eliminated all stabilizer rattle which is a huge plus! Overall, a very worthwhile mod in my opinion.

The soft keyboard carrying case I won in intelli78's awesome giveaway arrived today :D
The quality is great! It's thicker than I'd expected.

In the end.. the keyboard's most grand form of existence is as an ethereal bridge between man and machine..    Each depression of the keys, evanescent.. Our transitory thoughts crashing into the web, carving canyons through the internet wasteland such that life may once again flourish..

Got a bunch of goodies from Techkeys! Had to learn to solder for my next project.

Super stoked on this. Duck mini v1.5 PCB, plate, mx clears, and 62g springs. Waiting on lube and stickers from techkeys to throw it together!

Low-profile aluminum 60% case for my DD (Poker 2 with clears). Probably going to throw it on the Duck once it's assembled.

Green enter key for my HHKB that I bring to class.

Whoa!

Very congratulate! :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
