I didn't get them today but am finally getting around to posting. Thanks to katushkin for overseeing the KOTM/Y. Beautiful job on the stickers. Hope you don't mind me including my DT "Wingnut" in the picture.

Got myself one of those new Philips Hue lights in E14.

Call me crazy but I needed this.

So it's white light or 16 million colors?
Basically you can use the app to set it to either a white ranging from a 'incandescent-like' yellow to a stark white to a bluish white.
Alternatively you can take a color picker and select one of '16 million colors'.

It only works with a Hue Bridge of course but since I already have one its a good addition to the rest of my lights.
I could try shooting some pictures if you want to see some of the color ranges?

Ya that would be great! I'm looking up systems now haha.

Was wondering the feasibility of installing some at the cottage. I'm sick of all these dim LEDs that don't even work with the dimmer switches. I'd love a system to turn lights off when coming back at night, or downstairs lights on from upstairs, bright light to read or gaming with bright colors. What have you got me into! Haha
Alright, so first the white colors. Below are a number of presets.

'Energize'

'Reading'

It's a bit less yellow in real life but it mimics warm white incandescent quite well.

'Relax'

Again, bit less yellow than shown here but close to flame yellow.

And of course a color loop. Camera has some issues with the purple and cyan but watch the wall.

(Larger version)

If you want to deck out your home, keep in mind it can get expensive:
- White Starter kit (Bridge+2 lights) $70
- 3rd gen starter kit (Bridge+3 white and color ambiance lights) $200
- 1x white and color ambiance light $50
- Wireless dimmer switch $25

Though if you just want to get a feel for the system first (though without the programmability and just white light), try the Switch + bulb kit @ $50
Or get one of the older bridge + 2 bulb kits @$50 though I'm not sure what the differences between bridge models are.

Not really worthy of a picture, but my order of springs from SPRiT came today! Finally have enough of those special edition 63.5g springs I can finish my VE.A and Leeku 1800.

Wow! Thanks so much for all the pics and links with prices!

Definitely would like to invest in the whites and color starter kit and go from there.

I actually counted the lights that would benefit from the lights on the main floor of the cottage and it's 16 hahah. At $50 a light, eek!

Probably invest whenever I move into an apartment or small house :)

if you're looking for a cheaper option, i've recently just dipped my toes into the smart lighting world and picked up a couple of these Xiaomi Yeelights (non RGB version for me though).

seem like they'll work okay, and apparently they'll work with Alexa

What board is that & what switches does it have? I'm not usually a huge fan of old school mechs but this one really catches my eye for some reason. The track ball on the right is icing on the cake, nice find man! :thumb:

Compaq branded Cherry G80-11800.  Switches are (vintage?) browns.. they actually feel quite nice compared to newer browns.

Got the rest of my re-up on soldering materials (pics of both shipments i got) & finally got myself a big mouse pad, no more mixing & matching 2 different mouse-pads for this guy anymore! :p

Oh yeah here is the project I did yesterday to test the de-soldering iron (which works awesome BTW), I present to you the "Clearly a stubborn bastard Pok3r",
167730-2

It originally had Cherry clear switches with it's stock alum case, but I swapped the case to my S60-x RGB build & decided I was gonna modify the Poke3r. Now that i finally got around to it ,I decided to get a little crazy with the mods & swapped in lubed (Geekhacker's Thin mix) Gateron clears with Cherry top housings & 185g gold plated springs. Also clipped/lubed the stabs (super lube) & put a fresh coat of white paint on the plate while I had it all taken apart. I got it in the cheap clear plastic place holder case I bought for the S60-X build hence the name. :))

Nice, I was thinking some type of ALPS. So double score on that, vintage browns & most likely good old school Cherry caps! Very nice indeed. I have heard quite a few times vintage or even somewhat older browns feel much better than brand new ones. Wonder if that's a manufacturing thing or just being well broken in switches thing? Anyways awesome board, enjoy it man! :D

This one with the homing bars has the thinner pbt caps.  The ones that have homing dots have the thicker pbt caps.  My fingertips are pretty shot so I'm not too picky, they still feel just fine.

The browns in this board feel significantly better than the ones I had in my old QFR.  And the gray in the spacebar is quite nice as well.  I really want to get a full board of grays now.

Tactile greys are very nice if you are heavy handed typed. If you're handy with a soldering iron I would suggest ordering a batch from mechanicalkeyboards.com & swapping a board with them. That's what I did with my Tada68 since stock boards full of greys are crazy rare. Just a heads up though since you are currently using browns, tactile greys are about 3x as heavy as them. Not sure what your preferences are but for me it's one of the few switches out there I can leave the stock spring in, although my 2 current daily drivers have 100g & 185g springs in them.

Can confirm.
I've got very heavy hands and tactile mx greys have been perfect for me so far.

Oh I am fairly heavy handed.  My normal daily driver has 78g vintage blacks.  The other cool thing about this Compaq is the PCB mounted switches.  I don't mind desoldering but it's a bonus when I don't have too!  I probably will end up getting some from mk.com sometime soon for my next project.  The more I type on these browns, the more I like them.  They are significantly better than newer browns, they almost feel like a different switch honestly.

I do appreciate it to 100%.

Though the case itself has unusual style and i would appreciate more classic design. But overall if you type on it, its very pleasing. Its rock solid build and is full of functions i am not aware of (its the first day i got it in my hands). Its programmable by how much i cant say right now. Also it has bluetooth module and it seems like its able to connect with up to three devices. Thus making it able to control four devices (1 via usb and 3 bluetooth). On top of that you get doubleshot keycaps and apple like anodizing.

Summed up its worth its 300+ $ price tag definitely.

Wait, I read Hoff at the start and assumed that you posted the picture.
