Some USB sleeving stuff:

Now I'm just waiting on some straight and right angle USB mini B housings and USB A housings and I can start making some cables for myself and, hopefully, for some other people.  It'd be nice to get a little spending money again while looking for work.

Yeah, once all my supplies come in, I'll be putting up a sales thread to gauge interest, recoup my initial investment, and hopefully make a little to cover some future supplies for doing it or for earning myself a little spending money. Since I was just testing the waters on both the quality of sleeving I could order and interest, the first batch will be limited in color and length options.

Is that the generic plexo pet from China? Its not very good quality IMHO. Its very thin and has a flat profile and doesn't hug the cable well.

Is that the generic plexo pet from China? Its not very good quality IMHO. Its very thin and has a flat profile and doesn't hug the cable well.

I got it from Hong Kong.  I just tried  two pieces out on a cable I have and it hugs pretty well.  It's a hair looser than I'd like, but it's not bad at all, especially when I pull it tight like I will be when sleeving with it.  It has nice coverage too and you can't see through it to see the cable underneath.  I'd still put it behind Kobra, Bitspower, and MDPC-X in quality because it is a little thinner and hugs a little worse, but not so much that I wouldn't use it for my own cables.  It's not like the cheap generic PET sleeving that looks like trash and it's far more consistent than paracord.

And I was debating saying anything and since I really don't want to cause drama, but should you really be making comments like that given the nature of your business?  It comes off as you swooping in and trying to scare people away from someone since it might take a little business from you.  If it helps soothe your concerns, this isn't something I plan on making into a full fledged business or even a long term thing, it's just as a way to make a little money while unemployed and looking for work.  It would be better to ask what I thought about the quality since I will respond honestly.

It is actually a pretty cool idea to have the metal plate also be the top of the case. Extremely simple design and should actually be really easy to have made, someone with an aluminum/acrylic lasering hookup needs to get on this right away. With Phantom style plate mount holes for removeable switches it can only get better. If we got a GH60 2.0 supporting back lighting, and possibly even SMD style LEDs mountable all over the bottom of the PCB you could get really cool lighting effects out of the acrylic layer.

I like the sound of that. From your description, it kind of reminded me of the Corsair K90 or any of their mechanical keyboards but would have cooler backlit effects bc of the acrylic layer. I'd definitely be interested in this if it had good compatibility with the standard layouts.

Haha, no worries.  I just got a little defensive since it came off differently than you meant it.  I am very picky about the materials I use though.  I won't use something unless I would use it myself.  And I try to be straight forward and honest about how I feel about something's quality.

And those metal cases are sexy.  I would love to see one for the GH60 as long as it doesn't have too much flex or wobble.
