Now with that, a bit of discussion.  I've been thinking that if I can get 5+ more RoG base orders that the price ceiling(max price) would be what it is for 50 order tier ($30/set), if I do that right now, the deficit between what 20 people would normally pay and that would be $500 ( [20x$50]-[20x$30]).  That would need to be made up as I'm a mere mortal and not a well-paid executive, so it would work out to ~$3/order to make that difference up.

I know people have expressed their go-ahead with this, but here it is again for transparency-sake.  Order a RoG base kit, danielucf.

Heck I'd pay the $400 probably so you wouldn't have to charge anyone if it got me 30 sets to sell/trade
Maybe someone with a keyboard business site should buy the 30 sets needed to hit the 50 price tier

Quick question I haven't read the whole thread...  The gray is NOT the same as the gray used in RA, right?  Seems like the RoW and WoR are almost an exact match, though.

If I am wrong here, I apologize and will accept public scorn. But I don't think that math is correct.

If only 20 people pay for a set and only pay $30, then:

20x$30=$600 = amount collected

if you order 50 sets, that's:

50x$30=$1500 = amount actually paid to SP

so then, $1500-$600=$900 you have to make up with subsidy. This is the $500 tj calculated PLUS the additional amount from actually ordering 30 more sets.

This still might be the smarter choice if you could actually eventually sell off the sets... I haven't done the math that far.

edit to add: If someone paid the additional $400 to get 30 more sets, then they'd be paying $13.34 per set and would reap the benefit of the $500 subsidy everyone else paid. To keep people from paying a subsidy, someone would have to pony up $900 for the additional 30 sets which is $30 a set and would have the same effect as if we had hit the 50 tier anyway, except one person would be buying 30 sets...

50 sets are not going to be ordered.  TJ is going to charge the 50 set price ($30) whilst only ordering 20 sets.  This means that he needs (20 x $55 =) $1100 but will only have received (20 x $30 =) $600 - a short-fall of $500

Edit:  You are partially right, but you would need to find someone with $900 who wants 30 RoG base sets...

Unrelated question about the GeekHack keys: Are we choosing the individual colors we get in our set, or are they organized by color (IE one set might have 3 RoGs, 3 WoRs, or 3 RoWs), or is there one of each color per pack (IE 1 RoG, 1 WoR, and 1 RoW per set).

That's goddamned brilliant.  That's very likely what we'll do, then.  I may do that with everything once orders are closed to round everything to the closest tier up.  I'll make final decision once numbers are done being taken and counted.

Just wondering, from your knowledge, whether 2 base, 2 mods, & 2 tsangans will fit in a small flat rate box? (I think it will/should)

I had a recent purchase from Rayuki (originally from Boost) which consisted of effectively 1 base, 2mods, 2tsangans, 104key, 2spacebars (valentines) and it filled the box up pretty snug.

Considering I'm getting murdered for shipping anyways, I might be thinking about some RoG actions (whether mods/tsang or a base, still unsure) but whats the next size up from the small flat rate box and how much more would it be?

That should fit in a small flat rate box no problem. I was able to fit that when I was doing RA 2.0. In fact, the most I was able to fit was 3 base + 3 mods (or 3 base TKL sets from RA,) though the box bulges a bit.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but this order is so big you should check to see if you can get better prices than their normal create-your-own published prices.

Int'l shipping is always cheaper going with Flat Rate if the package is over 4 lbs. Under 4 lbs and it is cheaper to pack it yourself and pay by weight.

Medium Flat Rate box (which will hold infinity amount of sets, okay not infinity, but almost) to most int'l destinations is now about $60. Large is about $80.

I'm not surprised by the response to this - RA is one of the best looking sets imo & at $45 for a whole set of RoW base + WoR mods, like someone said above, you're undercutting signature plastics themselves!

On another note - could you add another RoG base set to my order please? If for some reason they don't end up at $30 I'll just drop back to one set.
