Considering the answers and reasons behind why we haven't been able to do that with anything else, I'm going to say it's not possible.

I am sorry this is my first attempt in GB, so could you plz tell me how to pay and how much shall I pay?

I had ordered two base and two mods, ROW and WOR , the price should be 50+ 48 , and 8 for shipping fees, is that right? so the only problem is how to pay you money, also including how much handling fee in paypal. thanks!

Could I not get a number 2 keycap with the quotation marks (") on it rather than the @? I'd pay for it if it was a (semi) reasonable price. Want it just for consistencies sake.

In the form, you should add a option for those that don't care if it is 7bit or standard.
I put 7bit since a lot of people seem to like it but I don't care whatever you go with.

edit: I keep getting form submission error.

If you'll fill out the new form in the OP, I can send you an invoice through paypal, sir.  That will include a breakdown of all the stuff.  Also, being that you're an international buyer, shipping will be ~$26.  USPS has increased intl shipping dramatically.

Just checked my order, looks like I ordered the wrong way around haha

It may be because I'm in it right now.  Give it another go.

I'll check with Melissa Monday, but I would bet that it's either in the ISO kit and I don't know (can't find the picture that shows what's in the kit currently) or that it would have its own MoQ.

Looks like ~25% of my orderers have gotten me paypal addresses already.  When monday rolls around, I'll send a mass PM to those I still haven't received a response from.  Tomorrow should see those that have filled the form getting invoices.

Don't worry, neiter have I, and I assume many others.

TJ said he'd aim to have those out by the end of today(US Time, so GMT-7) If you haven't got one by 7AM GMT tomorrow morning then you can panic, because there's only another 27 days left to pay :P

my order isn't the largest, however i am hopeful the option of getting 7bit (already filled out form) comes to reality to speak up as 1 of those in support. i am not sure when you will know, however with final invoices being march 2nd if you find out sometime between now and then i will more than likely add to my order. it does make this GB a little different than others.........like the first RA. that was a nice set. regardless am still looking forwarded to either way.

for me it's the other way around. since nothing else was decided I always thought mods will be like in the pictures in the op and SPs pics, so standard mods. and since the mods I ordered are supposed to be combined with tsangan kits from another GB it would look odd together, so I would have to see what to do if these get 7bit legends...
if there's a way to add a tsangan kit to my order and still stay in the $26 range for shipping, it wouldn't be that big of a deal though. but hitting $60 for shipping is not an option ;-)

no argument and i am in your court, but my point was in regards to their being the "OPTION" to get 7bit if available. if we can't i don't believe anyone is going to drop their order since we ordered off the OP.

it does make a ton of more work for TJ i would presume as far as sorting if 7bit does become an available option. i am enamored with the look of the 7bit legend though- very nice ;D

this has got to be one of the larger GB's we have had in a while

an option to review the order before receiving the invoice would be great, because i honestly can't remember what i ordered.

The invoice won't be a set in stone thing.  I'm just trying to get the ball rolling a little more efficiently by doing both order verification and invoicing in one step

Haven't got my invoice yet..

Gotta give me more than 25 min XD.  Especially since I was asleep when you filled the form out.

Could I possibly add a ROG mods to my order?

A tsangan kit shouldn't affect shipping at all unless you were already at the cusp of not having a box close, but even if it did, obviously I would work with you.

From there, while I like the 7bit look personally, I understand there are people getting these to match pieces of RA2.0 or that don't like it at all and again, even if 60% of the people want that, that won't guarantee it happening for two reasons:

1.  I think more of the people that don't want it will simply not order, and that would very certainly lead to number 2...

2. I won't do it if it changes the price at all.

Also, and this seems to be proven with some of the recent responses here, I truly think that more (I would risk even saying everyone if not expecting a couple people trying to prove me wrong) people that would like to see 7bit are expressing a preference, and not a requirement.

I'm working on invoicing the ~80 people that I have info for right now.  That leaves ~120 orderers needing to get back to me/fill out the form in the OP.

Additionally, I've kept the original link to the results of ordering up and those that keep track will notice it slowly fill up with a notation of ic.  That's to indicate that an invoice has been created for that order.  From there, expect an is for invoice sent and then p for paid.

Thanks TJ, that will be my final order. That 3.

The mods (shifts, enter, caps lock, tab, and backspace) would all be either standard legends with text, or 7bit symbols. There won't be a choice of which you want. We will all get either one type or the other. That's why the poll is important, it will decide the fate of the entire group buy.

Adding a tsangan kit shouldn't cause your order to ship in a larger box, unless you are already close to the size limit which will fit in a small flat rate box, which is about 300 keycaps.

The mockup in the OP is just an approximation. For instance, the windows keys will be the windows symbol, not the word "win" regardless of how the poll goes. And the menu key will be the windows menu key symbol, regardless of the poll outcome.

The OG Red Alert set used the symbols which the poll is addressing. The RA 2.0 set used SP standard legends, and is still referred to by some as "fake alert." That's why, early in the process (interest check), I suggested to TJ to contact 7bit and ask if we could use his symbol legends. Now that we have permission, TJ is offering the chance for us to fix the legends back to the original symbol legends for those keys I mentioned.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

Thank you guys for your replies. I didn't mean to come across too serious about the 7bit mods, cause I see this GB as one driven by the desires of the community, and with that, it's totally clear to me that whatever the majority decides, I will be okay with that. I just wanted to give a reason for my opinion and to express that I don't neccessarily dislike 7bit legends. So no hard feelings on this question from my side.

Concerning shipping, I think I'm on the edge to the larger box already having 3 basekits, 2 modkits, one 17key-kit and 2x GH-keys on my order sheet already, but I might be wrong though (maybe someone experienced on packaging can confirm?). But then, maybe sending one kit via an additional bubble mailer would work out, too.....
Anyway, it feels good that you would try to work things out, TJ. Another nice move by you, I really appreciate it.

are some pictures that show the difference between 7bit mods and standard. 7 bit is what was used in the original RA while standard is what was made for RA 2.0. This should help people decide what they like better.

you didn't come across in any negative way at all and you sure have my support. i missed out on the original RA and if given the chance am looking forward to any GB that might include something close in the buy, but am fine with the OP, what the majority wants as well and of course am more than thankful to TJ for doing this for us. i can just imagine the ROG in 7bit

thanks for putting up the pictures to compare 7bit to standard- it's nice to want what you don't have

From what I've been able to find out, a small flat rate box will hold 3 104key sets, so you're close but ok.

Which is precisely why it shouldn't be combined with billing.

I don't mind the community changing it, but I don't like the idea of being invoiced when I don't even know what I will (or will not) be getting.

I can understand the annoyance at the confusion over the mods - the buy was run all along with the 'standard' mods being what people were signing up for.  I worry that if the 'new' mods go ahead that people will drop out and drive up the price for everyone...  I know that TJ said he won't let that happen but it may be too late if people start dropping out preemptively...

Fortunately, I haven't had any people tell me that they were dropping out so far, but I think that's because I've been clear about this not being a guaranteed change and simply something I'd forgotten to bring up earlier.

Also, there's going to be a slight delay in invoicing as I just realized that I hadn't calculated paypal fees in the invoices I've already created.  So yeah, off goes the geekhack spy feed for a while.

Your words aren't encouraging, and are in fact making me even more nervous about participating. I don't care which way it goes, I don't need the keys, but not knowing what I'm being invoiced for is unacceptable. How would you like to buy a car and not know what model or color you would get until after you were sent a bill?

Also, you may be setting yourself up for a big money problem if too many people pay and too many drop out altering prices. Who's going to cover that? A few dollars is one thing, but what if 1/3rd of the people were to drop? However unlikely that may be.

TJ already stated that he's not going to do the 7bit mods if it changes the pricing. :-\

Edit: I think I may have understood you incorrectly at first. You mean people will drop out because they don't like the 7bit mods? This actually fixes a flaw in the RA 2.0 set, so I don't understand where the problem would be.

Edit 2: Actually, I don't know why I'm lobbying for the 7bit mods to happen. I paid over $200 for my O.G. (Rebel) Red Alert set, and if the 7bit mods happen on this one, they will be virtually indistinguishable from my Rebel set.

To be fair, I chose the worst of my options in regards to the 7bit mods, but what passed through my brain as I was reminded of the question was that I could either not bring the option back up and continue with business as usual and then feel a horrible pang of guilt when someone inevitably went "What about 7bit mods you were looking into" or extend the buy another month which I think would have been catastrophic as I'd been having an influx of cancellations (I say influx, but really, it's been a total of less than 10.)

As is obvious, I chose to try and combat my guilt and keep people from leaving because "it's taking too long" and it seems like it created a third, even worse option of people leaving because of the sceptre of possible raw dealing.

Well if it takes another week or so to get invoicing, I'll buy the extra RoG kits...
I think a lot of people will regret passing on them and I wouldn't mind having them for future boards...
I guess that's what the left over sales are for ah?

I will not be buying if it changes to 7bit, sorry, but I really dislike that look, I'm okay with it changing, I just won't be participating.

Which is why, even with pricing equal, a simple majority wasn't ever going to change things to 7bit anyways.

Not only because of you, but the vibe I get from the people that don't want 7bit is that it's simply a deal breaker.  People that do want 7bit are simply more pleased with it than standard, but they're fine either way.

It probably won't be an extra 24 hours, to be honest.  I've been able to fly through adding paypal fees to the existing invoices I had ready to send and it's now part of my template for the rest of the invoices.

As to leftovers, I don't plan on getting any unless SP has to manufacture to the order of 10 of anything.

Keep in mind that for o/sea buyer like myself, buying around 2 bases/2mods/2tsangans will pretty much pack a small flat rate which is $26. I guess we are limited to what we can buy that still remains reasonably affordable.
Its good that some vendors are getting onboard with these kits, gives the latecomers a chance to get some without the wait!

Considering that I have ~25% of people saying they don't want it and my beliefs in what their actions would be if I went with the popular vote, I want to say no and to forget about them for this GB.

Well if it takes another week or so to get invoicing, I'll buy the extra RoG kits...
I think a lot of people will regret passing on them and I wouldn't mind having them for future boards...
I guess that's what the left over sales are for ah?

Keep in mind that for o/sea buyer like myself, buying around 2 bases/2mods/2tsangans will pretty much pack a small flat rate which is $26. I guess we are limited to what we can buy that still remains reasonably affordable.
Its good that some vendors are getting onboard with these kits, gives the latecomers a chance to get some without the wait!

Really, you could get another set of all that in with no issues, but yes, much more for intl buyers means a price jump to nonflatrate or going first class instead of priority.

Now I feel a bit foolish.
I was under the impression that possibly all of it would change to 7bit, but this makes it sounds like there would only have been an option. That would explain your comments about not being guaranteed.

Sorry, if I caused any confusion and glad it;s not going to 7bit.

BTW, form has been filled out.
