Hurricane Sandy Keyboard Sale
« on: Sat, 17 November 2012, 20:49:53 »
Hurricane Sandy Relief Keyboard Sale

Welcome all!  I've decided to sell a broad range of my keyboards.  There is a twist to this sale though: 100% of profit from sales will be donated to the relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Yes 100% of sales will be donated to Hurricane Sandy Relief Funds

Total money raised: $200

FAQ:
Q: Trent why are you doing this?
A: I've been lucky enough to have a very blessed life, I've also been having a good couple of months financially and I'd like to give back to those struggling on the east coast.  I don't mind reducing my collection and helping other at the same time.

Q: Who are you donating your money to?
A: I've chosen the Global Giving website to submit my donations (http://www.globalgiving.org/)
This is the specific Hurricane Sandy fund I will be donating to: http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/hurricane-sandy-relief-fund/

Q: How will we know that you have donated the money instead of pocketing it for yourself?
A: After I have been paid through PayPal I will make the donation.  I will make the donation as a gift in honor of someone (the buyer) and you will receive an email confirmation from Global Giving that a donation has been made in your honor and for how much.  The email will be sent to whatever email address you indicate is for your PayPal account.

Q: I wanna buy one!  How to purchase le keyboard?
A: Shoot me a PM with your PayPal email address, shipping address and what you would like to buy, an invoice will be sent.  Upon receipt of the transaction, a donation will be made to the organization & you will get your confirmation email indicating it is from me and the amount of the donation.  For the sake of simplicity I am shipping to CONUS only -- if sales go well I will open it up to the rest of the world.

Sales are going great, I'll ship internationally and if payment is received quickly I'll be able to get all international shipments out on Nov 23rd.  Just one note: I won't reduce the value dollar amount on the package going out of the country, it's tax evasion.  Price will be adjusted for international sales to provide for shipping (but it's also a larger donation!)

tipo33, DanGWanG, SmallFry, i3oilermaker and various others can backup my integrity (although I do talk smack quite a bit in the off-topic board  :)))

So buy a keyboard and feed a family at the same time!  This sale will be available until Dec 30th!

The Keyboards!

Fujitsu Peerless [Peerless Switch]

Condition:All keys are in working order, but the Enter, Backspace and Shift keys are a bit stiff.  I don't think I have them set properly.  Either way a cheap board, good for parts.
Price: $20 shipped

NCR RJ-11

Condition: Has a RJ-11 connector, interesting NMB switches?  Feel linear, interesting board for an avid collector.
Price: $30 shipped

Sold Items:
FK-8000 [White Alps] SOLD

Condition: I personally refurbished this keyboard many months ago.  The calculator does in fact work!  All keys are in working condition, I haven't seen one of these that has a working calculator yet.
Price: $50 shipped

FK-2001 [White Alps] SOLD

Condition: All keys are in working condition, the larger keys are a bit stiff but I think its only because I haven't placed the keys properly.  Cheap price!
Price: $15 shipped

Zenith Data Systems [Yellow Alps!] RESERVED

Condition: Great condition, all keys are working.  It should be noted that by default this type of keyboard had a buzzer in it that caused a very annoying beep when a key was pressed.  I have un-soldered this part from the keyboard and this keyboard no longer beeps in that manner.  This thing is HEAVY, but an awesome beast.
Price: $30 shipped (it's heavy)

Dell AT101W (White) SOLD

Condition: All keys working to be tested, clean, good, ready to go.
Price: $20 shipped $40 shipped internationally

IBM Model M (Funky Keys) [Buckling Spring] SOLD

Condition: All keys are in working order, a bit dirty but does the job.  Just needs a little love and all will be well.  Missing a Tab key.
Price: $35 shipped (great price for a Model M...)

Eazy PC (Zenith) [Yellow Alps!] SOLD

Condition: This board seems to use the XT protocol, all LEDs light up when you plug it in but it it does not seem to work with adapters.  Whoever buys this will have to make an adapter to get it working.  Shipped to go.
Price: $30 shipped (it's heavy)

Thank's for looking everyone!

Jdcarpe buy the FK-8000!  You know you want it!  It just needs a well charged 3V battery (CMOS battery) the one that is in there is a little dim.

What are you interested in buying?

If only it was the 9000...

tipo33 sold me his and I am clinging onto that for dear life.  Although it is missing the battery cover and I haven't seen if it works or not.  The programmable keys work like a charm though...

Whoever snagged that Dell AT101W got a good deal!

If any of you are on the fence about that Zenith don't be.  It's build quality is easily equal to an IBM Model F or M (if not exceeding the IBM build quality).  The ZKB2 is one of my favorite boards.

Yeah it is one of my favorites, but living where I do I just can't warrant owning as many boards as I do.  The yellow alps are just like mx reds in my opinion, and now that I removed the annoying buzzer there aren't any annoying beeps when you type haha.

FK-8000 SOLD

FK-2001 SOLD

Now up to $170 in donations, keep them coming, I have more items to list too!

I pulled it apart just fine, un-soldered the buzzer and put it back together just fine.  It's the only ALPS board I've seen that weighs as much as a Model M.

Besides you can do local pickup so I don't have to go to the post office :)

Nope...they are very very easy to disassemble/reassemble.  Trent, did you try the alt + tilde key combo to turn the buzzer on and off?  In my ZKB2-AT that key combination disables/enables the buzzer.
