The PCB design is already done.  Try talking to litster to see if you can get the schematics for it to run another small GB.  All I did was ask for lit's permission and he was on board =)

Note:  The 4 stabilizer switches (Shifts, Enter, Backspace), excluding spacebar, have issues with removing the switch top housing.  This is inherent from the original PHANSI150 design.

Dan, the mod is pretty simple. Just file the upper corners of the 4 switches holes. It takes like 10 minutes if you have a dremel. Since this poker plate is an exact copy of the phantom design, the same thing should apply:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3CetdXi7AI

just wondering
can i mod the quickfire rapid TKL to put this plate? 8)

What are you looking to get out of this plate? Your CM already has a steel plate. It's impossible to make this work with CM quickfire because modifer sizes are different. You need to drill holes in the PCB to match the plate, and those exact locations already has electrical traces.

Thanks for the video WFD =)  I'll put it in the OP.  Since mine's already on my Phantom, I'm too lazy to make the adjustment myself

I don't think you can on the Phantom plate design.  I had to use Cherry plate mounted stabilizers on mine.  Even the Costar ones are a pain in the ass and may not even work...

I used PCB mount ones to test my poker and it worked just fine. The trick is to install the PCB stabilizers then the plate.

Also, Costar worked on the two plates I tested and weren't hard to install at all

It should have PCB mount holes since it didn't require a plate to begin with

The stabs mount to the PCB, and go thru the holes in the plate. Right?

That's how most Korean boards do it... but they have the hole in the plate sized for it.  I don't know how tight the plate mount hole is compared to that.

So they do carry plate mounted stabilizers after all? Could you please give me a link?

And of course, after having read what you guys have written I realized PCB mounted ones won't work since the Phantom PCB doesn't have anywhere to place the stabilizers... Well, at least not to my knowledge.

Seems like there are some confusion about plate, PCB, and stabilizer compatibility. Any plate that can accept plate-mounted cherry stabs will also work with PCB-mounted cherry stabs because it just slides through the plate hole, nothing is actually mounted on the plate. For this specific case, this is irrelevant though because this plate ONLY works with phantom PCB and nothing else. Since phantom PCB does not have holes to mount the PCB-mounted cherry stabs, you HAVE to use costar or plate-mounted cherry stabs.

I have issues with mouser links

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Cherry-Electrical/0G990224/?qs=%2fha2pyFadui%2ff77L2%2f6q1E9TeTSTHkqalUnHyJbKl9I%3d

just search for G990224 if it doesn't work

Sent via PM to me

I can verify that those are indeed 2x plate mount stabs and come with all the plasticy bits and 2x wires. I ordered the same mouser part for my phantom. You are still going to need to bend your own space-bar wire though, but it isn't too hard if you have time and patience (and wire).

Thank you SmallFry!
I searched for it for quite a while on Mouser's website but couldn't find it, so that link makes it much easier. Would've ordered some instantly if they hadn't that 20€ shipping. Luckily enough I'm able to solve this in different ways!

It's a bit funny you can't seem to find these in Europe though. :>

Also, you can't anodize stainless steel so you have to either powder coat, spray paint or use electrostatic paint to change it's color.
You could ask a blacksmith or gunsmith to have it oil quenched or blued.

Blued steel > black-anodized aluminium, in my opinion. That is the process used on guns.

Oil quenching is much cheaper. It is the process used for black nuts and bolts.

No, The holes on Korean boards don't have all the extra stuff to deal with plate mount.  The holes are just rectangles rather than the complicated  design you see here.

Maybe, but why wait for that if some people need them now. I've been asking for a Round 2 Phantom GB since I joined GH in March. If we could even just get another round of PCBs right now, we can source everything else.

Edit: I was also politely told to wait until the original GB was completed and check for a leftovers sale. AFAIK, the GB was completed when everything shipped this summer, and we sill have no leftovers sale.

Yep. But I think we need both, Phantom and GH60. The only real improvements to the Phantom I could justify would be revising the PCB for SMD diodes and an integrated ATmega controller chip, like komar did with the GH60. Maybe holes for PCB mount switches and stabilizers.

Guess I'll have to reserve myself an extra plate if you guys get that GB going =)  I don't think it'll be very expensive and MOQ likely won't need to be that high.

komar007 may be willing/able to make those changes quickly to the Phantom PCB, if someone wants to approach him about it. If he is even interested in the Phantom project. And permission from bpiphany to make those changes would be needed of course. I'd say Phantom rev 2.0 PCB GB is imminently doable, but it will require some coordinated efforts.
