My favourite number is 12,407,because it is the smallest "un-cool" number (one that does not appear in the Online Encyclopaedia of Integer Sequences).

Hello there, my favorite number is 911, and let me tell you why.

For my whole life, I can always remember seeing the numbers 911 in combination. From clocks, to food prices, to dates, and anything else supposedly random. At a point this started to really freak me out, and I thought "why is this happening to me, what does this mean?" And to this day I still have no idea what the answer is to those questions. However, I do know that I am not alone in this. If you look online, there are many people who suffer from the same problem. Some people see different numbers in combination, but 911 is definitely one of the most common to see.

I have looked in to the importance of the numbers 9 and 11 and what it could all mean. The number 9 has many meanings, but the most common one is: the number of the patience, the meditation. The number 11 has many meanings, but the most common one is: the number represents the symbol of the interior fight, the rebellion and the mislaying which results from it. But it also represents someone who comes out victorious of the tests with the acquired knowledge. In combination, these two numbers point to the significance of being patient with the internal conflict that one may have. And even before I knew about the true meaning of these numbers, it has always been important for me that I realize it is okay to be undecided, and that time will take its course.

1911 was also the birth, and start of many new ideas and events. Such as the famous pistol the M1911, or the opening of the first United States federal cemetery in Missouri. 911 was also designated as the emergency protocol number for the U.S. because it is short, unique, easy to remember, and the number had never been designated for an office code, area code or service code before.

911 in math:
  • The 456th odd number = 911
  • The 156th prime numbers = 911
  • The 911th digit of pi = 2

There are many more interesting facts about this number, but these are the reasons why 911 is my favorite number, not to say that it does not scare me at times or intrigue me at others, however.


TL;DR: 911 is a fascinating number shrouded in many mysteries and yet still offers guidance.



Note: My connection to this number has no correlation to the tragic events that happened on 9/11 2001. I offer my condolences to anyone who has lost a family member or friend because of any relations to that event. And I will refrain from commenting on the importance of 911 in this situation due to the touchiness of the subject. If anyone is interested feel free to send me a PM. I don't want a clack.

But my favourite number is 144

My ideal weight is 144lb, I'm way below at the moment, but I haven't been working out for months (years?).

12,24,36,48,60,72,84,96,108,120,132,144 yup, 144 is the square of 12.

1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144  that's right it's also the 12th Fibonacci number.

It has a lot of other cool numerical traits that I can't remember at the moment... just wiki it  :))

It was the year that the 7th emperor of the Han dynasty died, and seven's a pretty cool number in its own right.

But it's simply 73. 7 and 3 were my lucky numbers, and then when I joined hockey as a kid my jersey number was 73. Since then it's just been my thing.

Google 'big bang theory 73'. 8)

In addition, 7 is the first happy prime and 3 is the first lucky prime.

I don't have a topre board and don't want a clack but 73 is a fantastic number for teaching mathematics...

I started reading about the number seven after watching the movie Lucky Number Slevin.
The number 7 is also known as a happy prime, which is AWESOME :D.

My favorite number 3,

First take out the holy pin,

I do own 2 topre keybaords and a MX board, and I only own 2 hack orange clack skull 1 mx and 1 topre,
I do want this clack, and by my keyboards, I promise not to sell it at any cost, only for trade in the future.
I did applied for the EK CC drawings for all 8 they have to offer for this batch,
all my submission doesn't went through, and im sad to find out one of my fellow forumer in Malaysia,
got one out of his only two submission...... some luck I've got.

Glad to found this topic here, I was at 94 posts when I saw this,
I just followed up a few on some of those topic I was in or started myself,
and now I m posting here as my 100th post... does this count as doing some maths?

I like ONE. Because when I was born exactly ONE year later I was, believe it or not ONE! And ONE is the first number! "First" being another form of ONE. Zero is simply a placeholder for NONE and NONE is definitely not ONE aside from the fact that ONE is in the word NONE.  And also ONE is the loneliest number! So it needs some love, at least from ONE person. And also this.... (Supposed to be a picture of a one breasted woman here but I can't upload it.....would have been perfect) .

I like the constant e=2.71828. At school I got tons of problems that involved the  distribution of prime numbers, and Mr. "e" was alway there :'-(. I used to hate it the first months, but after the first year I started loving it.

Glad to know that counts, but I m not that long a member yet,
also I did not often float up to the surface and post replies, rather I submerge most of the time and read post or topics that matter.

but as you are in the UK, are you familiar with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch?

My favorite number is 313 because it's symmetrical in both decimal and binary form (100111001). 313 is classified in many form of prime types (a long prime for example, longweight) and it is considered a happy number as well.

Happy Number Sequence
32 + 12 + 32 = 19
12 + 92 = 82
82 + 22 = 68
62 + 82 = 100
12 + 02 + 02 = 1

I enjoy the number .999 repeating, because there are some very strong arguments to be made that .999=1

I've always brought that question up to every math teacher I've had, and enjoyed the discussions it's brought up.

I've always said that if it was really one, you'd write '1'.  But is it actually equivalent to 1?  I would say it's infinitely close to 1, so yes it is.

My favorite number is 8. 8 in Chinese culture is considered to be a lucky number because it sounds like the word wealth/prosper. It was also Kobe's old jersey number. And if you turn 8 sideways it looks like a pair of BOOBS! oh and also the infinity logo.
