My only question is where am I going to get a nice ISO set.  I'm trying ISO 150 as one of my layouts since I've never had ISO before.

Depends on what color you want. If you're a little wild, then Klaxon is a good way to go. Get a Base, mods, tsangan, and ISO kit. Maybe a bit pricey, but you can't go wrong with doubleshots.

I'm seriously here begging you not to cut it. I will give you cash for it right now,  or I'll buy the Phantom with it complete. I'll trade you this clear MKC acrylic case that you can cut up, even. Not joking.

Can I say I'm not a fan on the Lister case, I don't like acrylic that much (seems easy to scratch) and I don't like how the bolts aren't counterbored (which I doubt you could do with an acrylic that thin)

Is it really that difficult to design a case, or is it the production of it, or what? With the talent I've seen here its surprising to me that no ones designed an aluminum or ss one.

I admit I know little about the process, and maybe if I did known more I'd consider venturing out and attempting to design one?

Any suggestions where to start? Is the difficulty getting the files transferred from AutoCAD or whatever design program, into CNC machine code?

People are designing cases. The problem is so many people want so many things. It gets hard to even consider what to start with and to get enough people to want to stick with one thing

Oh I see. I'm a fairly simple guy, and all I'd want personally is a standard filco case in aluminum or ss lol but 285+ for mkc one is way out of my budget

Wouldn't consider my key cap preference wild. I like "vintage" style, WYSE, Cherry beige, coffee, etc.

Is the cost really that much though, or is it more of the first of what you mentioned... And there's only a handful of them being run so the machinest is charging an arm and a leg? The reason being, as you said, everyone wants something different?

I also figured importing it added some to cost, and with how reluctant people are to release designs, they gotta be making a buck off it?

lol you guys shouldn't pressure litster to hand over his file of the case. He's seen this thread, and if he wanted to share them, he will. If not, then just understand that these take a long time to design and cost money to prototype, as well as all the other little things that come with making a product a reality from blueprints.

Everyone wants a nice case for a custom project like this, but I'm betting most won't be willing to pay for it. Just be realistic with prices. It'll cost you anywhere from $200 - $350 for a metal CNC case. The Vortex aluminum case was dirt cheap for $150, and it was clear the quality reflected this. The cost of the actual material is not much, but the time required to program the CNC machine and cutting time on the machine is very expensive. Stainless steel would be very nice, but even less practical for your wallet.

Out of curiosity, how much does it cost doing methods like having a top and bottom aluminum (or SS) piece with acrylic in the center? Is the cost mostly in milling time/quantity or material I guess is what I'm asking.

Even if you got the files from litster, you would still have to modify them in order to make them from Alu or SS.
Because the case is originally made out of non-conductive Acrylic there are no PCB-standoffs or similar in the design as far as I know.

But I'd be definitely interested in a metal case, if somebody would do one.

I would try to design one myself, but I got no CAD software that I know how to use and also I don't have any good case as inspiration (or a Filco case for exact measurements for the standoffs).

But I have a local shop that can do CNC and lasercutting which I know the owner of, so if anyone maybe has a design ready, but no place to get them made... ;)

I'm willing to pay for it. It's a matter of if my family's willing to let me pay that much for an aluminum case. I calculated my price based on between 200 and 300, so I'm good.

What about 3d printing cases?
That might work, though I would be concerned about the structural integrity of it and the strength of the material. If the material type can't handle being the lower receiver of an AR-15, then I'm not sure I really want a keyboard made out of it.

Nope, not yet, I'm going to start send them out very soon (today). Just working out some shipping stuff.

Here is my final shipping costs:
US
1      $8
2      $10
3      $10
4      $10
5      $12
6      $12

Int
1      $13
2      $15
3      $17
4      $20
5      $22
6      $24

I'm just going to keep shipping straight across to board for convince.

Also if your order is going to TP or WFD, you will be charged a smaller shipping fee. The shipping fee will be calculated by getting the cost it will take for TP/WFD's orders (~15 boards) and distributing it evenly amongst all the people shipping to them. Will be about $3/board

There essentially has to be in order for these orders to complete their builds. There are no holes on the PCB to accommodate stabilizers if I read the information correctly earlier.
