EK Landing Pad For Futaba Switch?

Has any ever one tried using  EK's landing pads on a "futaba" switch? I have a Chicony 5191 with Russian layout that is a decent board, but reverberates a serious thunk when typing. Slightly tactile without a click, but bottoms out crazy.

I have another board with futaba's that is tactile and clicky without the big thump.........., so they are definitely not all the same.

Not sure if EK's pads have a large enough diameter to fit over the switch? The outside of the futaba switch dimension is 5/16".

If someone has one of EK's landing pads could you check the inside diameter?

My futabas actuate and click right AT the bottoming-out point. I'd think that pads may cause some problems with actuation.

I measured mine and I get
Inner Diameter 3/16"
Outer Diameter 6/16"

i just checked and mine actuate with a slight tactile bump about 2/3rds of the way down before the bottoming out point.  you are probably correct though as the pad would hang on, be snug to the switch riding or traveling up and down. still i do not know if the the pad inside diameter would allow me the room to place on the switch?

I think it stretches quite a bit. You could also exacto knife the holes a bit bigger if you wanted.

thanks..............so the 3/16 would be right where the inside diameter of a mx cap should be and answers my question.

If u had a hole punch of the right size u could just make the holes bigger and it would work, theoretically.  But the sides would then be very thin and weak so it might get kinked up in your switch.  Good luck

i found these that would probably work, but am a little scared of the 70a durometer rating- maybe to hard?

there 5/16 ID and 7/16 OD with a thickness of 1/16. 1/16 is right about what i have left on the downward stroke where it actuates. if some of the switches are a little touchy i need a little more travel which the 70a might be to hard and allow it to actuate.

am trying to find the size in a 40a or 50a.

Try the dental bands thing.  And try to find a tool to make your perfect size hole.

I also need a tool / set of tools that can make any size hole I need for a project that I need.

If u then msg me in 30 days I should have found the material we need to make this work by then.  cyaz
