A bundle of switches from of all colors for testing purposes?

Wouldn't it be awesome if there would be a small bundle of Switches for a low fee which would allow to get a feeling of all those different switches (brown, red and so on)? Or maybe there is one and someone here could point me to it? :-) I find it hard to invest so much money without getting a chance to test the feeling of the keyboards at all...  :eek:

Testing switches isn't the same as testing a keyboard

Like Beast said, testing individual switches does not give the same experience as using a keyboard.  At the very least, try to "mount" the switches in a sheet of thin metal or plastic to give an approximation of how they would feel when mounted on a keyboard.

Thank you for the hint. I will definitely try that out. :-) I am so excited about the switches, to hold them in my hands for the first time and feel what I only could read so far. :D

Same I recently "blindly" ordered a Filco with reds and I just can't wait to actually feel them and see what all this hype is about.

I have the WASD sampler kit, and also a couple of MX keychains, and although you can feel the difference in the individual switches (spring strength, tactile feedback) it is quite a different experience to actually type on a keyboard with that switch.

There was a switch sampler (kinda like a stand-alone keypad with a few different switches built into it) that was doing the rounds last year.  That would give a better indication of how the switches feel on an actual keyboard.  Maybe it will go around again.

I remember that Hashbaz organized a mx numpad tester about a year ago that had all variations of mx switches soldered on. It would be awesome if we could start up one of those with mx/topres again.
