I only use my Leopold (desktop) and my G80-11802 (laptop). I need to sell my Dell AT101W and Focus FK2001 if there is a market for such things. My G80-8113 is a backup/parts board, oh and the BTC. Hahahaha BTC. I should post some pictures of that. It's a real sight.

I still haven't found any buckling springs to try.
i have seen unix admins with john deere trucker hats, and even seen a man in a nascar shirt correct a passerby's klingon.

I used my HHKB P2 for "typing" or activities other than gaming.

My Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is used for gaming and at the moment, navigation around Windows 8 as well.

Is it bad when you consider buying another PC just so you have another justifiable use for a keyboard?

I feel like the keyboard is going to waste in the closet and it must be set free.

A set of drawers designed specifically to house keyboards would be awesome.  It may also alleviate some of the guilt noted above.

I haven't felt the need to buy another computer yet, but the following happened to me this past weekend, and made me think maybe I've got a serious keyboard addiction:

[Krog and wife watching War Games (starring Matthew Broderick!) on the couch.]
Wife: "Can't believe we're watching this movie."
Krog: "Yeah, Matthew Broderick sucks, LOL!"
[We then watch Broderick's character try to convince the super computer named "WOPR" to not start a thermonuclear war, typing away frantically.]
Krog: "... niiiice keyboard."

Yeah. I'm noticing keyboards in old movies.  :))

I try to give the ones I don't use to people who seem like they should be introduced to quality keyboards. Otherwise they are sadly collecting dust in my closet.

Luckly the number of keyboards I have match the number of places I can use a keyboard. Not sure what to do once I get another one though.

My Topre HE0100 for on top of my laptop. My Realforce, Filco and G84 rotate between my desktop, work and fighting games on the PS3.

Currently just have three boards at the moment. My daily is the KBT Pure and my wife is using the KBT Race. I don't use my IBM Model M that much because it's a bit big for me. I have it hooked up to the server cabinet, but we mostly manage them remotely.

However, given the number of projects that I'm involved in and the fact that I still haven't found my goldilocks keyboard yet, I expect that I'll have more and I want to do them justice, which is why I asked the question Do You Display Your Keyboards?.

Of all the answers, I think the best example thus far has been CeeSA's Keyboard Shelf.

At home I have a dual monitor set-up with a TKL under one and a 104-key (full-size) under the other monitor.  I normally use the TKL unless I am doing spreadsheets or something else that needs the 10-key pad, and then I pull the other one out.

At work I use this gen-u-wine IBM Model M and have a Unicomp clone nearby as a  backup.

And in a carry-around case I have my Poker 60% or a 75%.

Others are on shelves in my office, on-loan to people I really trust, or in my project pile.

And here I put Pixel Art of the one I am using to post.

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

I've heard of other people using their compacts for when they travel, but I haven't had the urge to carry an additional keyboard when I'm mobile.

What motivates you to bring a 60% with you on trips? What kind of laptop do you use?

Oddly enough I bring my pure if I want to feel the most comfortable somewhere.  I'm surprised how this keyboard grew on me.

Here is the case I use.  The mobile computer changes based on the job, but this is more than enough to protect it and the keyboard without taking up too much space.

This is also a case I have used just for keyboards, http://www.monocase.com/mono-M80-tick.asp
I got into monocases with my guitars and have bought from them ever since.

That's the thing.  I don't use a laptop.  I have software-matching Linux boxes at home and at the office and a big i7/Win7 rendering machine at work and a portable ITX i5/WIn7 rendering machine to take home when I need to work on video after hours.  So I keep an interesting keyboard in a Leopold 200 TKL soft case with whatever work stuff I need and take that home and back.  And if I am somewhere else and have to work on some random "guest" computer or laptop, I can just plug in a proper keyboard and there I go.  The Poker or the Choco Mini take up no space and weigh nothing, but if I am gonna be typing on someone else's computer for an hour or two I have a proper keyboard.  And my Corsair Voyager USB 3.0 flash drive comes along with me as well, so I can keep all my stuff in my bag.

I do not keep a bootable Linux image on my thumb drive, because it pretty much freaks people out if their Windows machine is suddenly running Linux!

And maybe someday I will have a Model M 60% in the bag.  That would blow people's minds!

I dunno, as much as I like the idea of a portable model M...they weigh too much to be portable in the first place. I prefer a poker to be more travel efficient and appropriate. Hmm.. come to think of it, I haven't used my model M in a while..

I should get me a shelf for my mice, I have way too many them.

Just added a TP3 to the collection cuz I love me some Alps, and the recording computer (which is a mac) was starting to feel left out.

if you ever add tp4 to your collection, put him on the shelf with your topre keyboards. he will surely look good there.

I have four right now doing the following jobs:

Realforce 88UB - Sitting at my desk being used for coding and games. Has been known to go out for little trips in my backpack to events.
DAS 2 ISO - Sitting next to my desk. Is switched out with the Realforce from time to time to mix it up a bit until I build my MX blue Phantom.
DAS 3 Ultimate ISO - Freshly cleaned sitting back in it's box waiting for me to list it somewhere to give it a new home.
IBM Model M UK - Sitting in the cupboard in a box. Not sure what I'll do with it. Kind of hard to use it or part with it...

I suspect many GH will have keyboards in all four of these states (plus one or two "not ready, waiting for parts/caps").

CeeSA, cool!!! what boards are these?
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I agree. CeeSA wins!

Looks like 4x Noppoo Choc Mini (there is a white Choc Mini?), and 2x custom chopped G80's. :)

jdcarpe is mostly right. At the lowest point it's a deck 82. The grey and the yellow are modded (by myself) G80-1800. To be exact, in the yellow case is a raptor k1 with cherry brown. In the grey it's a 1851 with cherry blues.
Most of the time i use Deck82 or some white Race.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Is that a Race sitting on your desk under the monitor? If so, what key caps are those?

A nice setup, but how can you get anything done with that awesome collection in the corner of your eye all the time?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Really, really nice presentation.

What do you do with fixed-cables?

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

All boards are modded to detachable. Noppoo, Deck82 and my G80 1800 mods. The keyboard under the monitor is a white Choc Mini. The black matrix (for gaming) board is a Tipro.

Tipro eh?

That is quite interesting. Do you use all the keys? Is it better than a game pad?

You sir, are an inspiration to us all.

Do you have keyboard covers btw?
I find my house is really dusty, and if I don't cover it, gets dusty pretty quickly :(

no keyboard covers. If I clean with a vacuum cleaner I hoover over it. That's fast and easy. Never lost a cap until now ;)

I did not use all keys of the Tipro. Have a WASD Cluster and much of the left half of a normal keyboard. Additionally I use some makros like
"Enemy at Point A" etc.

Matrix layout is nice for gaming. And programmability is always a big plus for me.

I just keep them in the boxes stacked on top of each other to avoid collecting dust in the boards. Since I am still at studying away from home, I have one back at home just on my desk and one with me at school all the time :D
