HHKB non-silent
Tried out a 30g last week, and think I may like that as much.

HHKB is my favourite.

I also had a 104U variable Realforce, it was great for typing and felt really nice and solid, but not so good for gaming and too big lol.

I have found the variable to be too light on the pinkies,  apart from that, I prefer the 55g, but the layout of the HHKB.

Why is the 104U Realforce bad for gaming, may I ask? I am hoping it's size doesn't bother me when mine gets here, but my setup really is crappy for having a big keyboard so I am not holding my breath >.< haha

If you use a mouse, it's harder to move quickly between typing and mousing with a larger board. And it's less comfortable to have your hands spread that far, at least for me.

HHKB because it is small and also the 45 weighted keys are just right for me. I only wish for dedicated arrow keys and it would be perfect but otherwise it is like typing on clouds.  ;D

None since they are overrated. Oh, and I have used topre; I own one and it sucks compared to the das cherry brown I have for the price.

However, if money means nothing other than a tool to get new stuff: HHKB type-s since it'll make you feel good having the most expensive thing.

Sorry, didn't intend to bash on topre. Just stating my view in a non-insulting way.

HHKB pro. Not 2. USB hub on my keyboard? Ridiculous!
I prefer variable to 45g which is heavy a bit.

paid-less-than-retail HHKB
ditto for 87u

both 45g, both cheaper than normal so don't give me that 'i paid more so i feel compelled to like it' crap. i paid less for both of my topre boards combined than i did for my kmac and i hardly ever use the kmac.

Happy Hacking Keyboard Pro Japanese

Because the layout for me is really good and the 45g switches feel way better than the ones on my HHKB Pro 2 that feel too stiff.

What Bro Caps said. And being variable the A key is lighter than W, S and D so in FPS games I found I would tend to run towards the left :P

I like my 103U variable for gaming, though the 104U would mean I can finally replace my spacebar =_=. My ring finger is weaker than my index and middle fingers so I find having A lighter helps. Also I don't put my mouse on the side of the keyboard so the numpad geting in the way is a moot point.

However, favourite Topre board is definately my Short Throw. Not as good for long typing, but my god is it good for games. Love it for RTS and I kid you not, when playing rhythm games on my computer with it like stepmania, I beat most of my high scores (to be far, by only a small amount) almost instantly after switching.

Tried them all, but like the 45g best for me.... variable didnt like the lighter pinky and 55g didnt like the little bight of extra acuation force over the 45g.

HHKB 2 Pro, followed very, very closely by 55g 87U.

As far as I'm concerned, those are the only Topre boards.

If you check the classifieds section, I think there are a couple of pretty good deals there. But expect to pay at least 200+ for a used topre board. I have seen used HHKB Pro 2's around 200 on ebay as well.

as I posted in the other thread you can get them cheap from Japan:

Here's a Japanese TKL for about $145
http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B000EQHU6M/

Combine that with a japanese forwarding company like Tenso and you should get it for just under $200 shipped.

That one is Variable, on Amazon all the 55g boards seem to be sold out.

There's 45g weighted boards for $20 more and a 30g weighted board (Full Size) for $40 more.

I love my RF UB88 (ISO FR ;) ), best keyboard since the Filco in brown I got like... 1 week before. I really love the Topre feeling, I'm getting a HHKB2 Japanese (ISO enter ftw) quite soon from a friend.  ;D  Tried it, loved it. Had to give it back.   :-[
