our supreme leader hal couldn't make it, so he sent his on acid replacement rarar to fill in the spot.

I have dual IPS monitors with 2560x1440 resolution, and voted to leave things alone. Then again, I don't have an avatar and am too lazy to create one.

There's really no way to get a legitimate poll unless GH re-introduces that section or you do a public vote, and have something like "50 posts and above only" so people can't register new accounts to vote.
IMO this isn't a big enough deal to go through all that trouble, unless you really want it (and assuming iMav would be willing to make the change).

All the avatars are large enough that I can tell what they are, but I wouldn't be bothered if they grew a bit. 184px does seem a little huge though. I'd prefer a smaller increase if there is one at all.

They do look pretty small on my laptops 17" screen, I think they may be nice being a bit bigger. On my main computer it's not a big deal, but here bigger is better.

I agree with this. Avatars are nice, but if they hinder the practical use of the forum in any way, then they are too big. Slightly bigger may be nice, but I do not see a reason to make these kind of things so big, that when someone posts a single line of text, the height of avatar and signature take up 7 inches on a 1080p 24 inch monitor like in some forums.

If they are allowed to be bigger, ideally there should be some user option to scale them back.

I made this to show the difference in size (from left to right) 200x200, 150x150, 100x100:

I would like to have an option to show either no avatars, 100x100 or 150x150. I think 184 would be too big for me.

So I vote 150x150, simply because I don't think the extra 50 pixels will impact post size much: if at all.

I would like to see 184x184 but I don't think we have the real estate to properly show both avatar and posts. So I'll agree with Glissbro and vote for 150x150. Also, ALL HAIL THE SHARK

While it doesn't hinder you people with a 1080 or a 1440 monitor but it will hurt the low resolution users if you increase the avatar size

On the other hand it doesn't hinder anyone by leaving it the same, hmmm...

I don't see why we would need them larger. They already serve their function, and making them any larger would be a waste of space. If anything I'd like them to be smaller.

why does screen size matter? It adds nothing to make avy's bigger and only makes the forum look worse...

I'm guessing you didn't think someone was abusing the poll when multiple yes votes were sent in a short time period?

Put me down as "no", having it larger would remind me of those boards where everyone has a graphical sig that are larger than the content of their posts.

At the least if larger ones are allowed, make it a user setting for what size avatars are shown.

I'm glad the admin/mod team knows that the current avatar size is sufficient. The one thing you did prove with this thread, OP, is that the forum needs the option to create a poll thread.
