It was set to four. It was pretty perfect for me and as you can see everything works and looks adequate.

What is a good temperature? I thought it was like listening to music and you just set it to 11 and forget it :p

for SMD soldering i use 210 or so. so i htink for an iron 250 would do the trick. My solder iron is a dial though. i set it to 3 of 5

And here is mine:

So it's no longer black because I had to fix a dent on the top left corner,
I wet sanded it to get the flat surface back, I then filled with an aluminium/epoxy putty where it was needed and finally got it powder coated pearl white.

I am very happy with result and the dent is completely gone :D
Powder coating sort of smoothed the edges and made for a more glossy classic look
I can detail the process with some pictures (not so many) if some of you have a dent issue and are interested.

I would be very interested in the process both from a learning perspective and because I want a white case some day.

It doesn't take that much time for me to do it, but I'm sure it would've been a fair bit quicker with the "right" type of equipment. I sure appreciate being able to see small components still, and hope I won't lose that ability anytime soon.

After many long hours I have what I call my sunset themed LZ-GH. Klaxon set.

The blue and red LEDs make a purple/pink reflection off the plate. Kinda neat.

Question:
How come your leds does not come through the keycap (underglow effect).
I have a Thick PBT russian dyesub and the leds on my Poker II shine through it.

Is it because its a light colored keycap or just the brightness of the led itself?
Because on the stock blackish thick PBT that is included on my poker doesn't shine through.

It shines through the cap just a little bit in the legends but hardly at all. It's probably because the red double shot underneath is dark.

Thanks guys.  It's nice to see so many of them here.

I'm having problems installing the software, does anyone still have a zip file in their download folder that they could send me? - one that worked for them.  The one I'm having issues with is dated 13.05.07.

I simulated this error by trying to install with setup.exe, do you get the same error when you try to install with TRiKer.msi?
