Woo!  Congratulations :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

After thinking about this last night while madly refreshing the thread I actually think I kind of like this method of sale. It sucks being at a bit of a disadvantage but it really feels like a much higher ratio of caps from this sale are going to forum regulars rather than people who sign up for a username and then **** off forever once they've got their clacks. At least this way we know most of the Clacks are staying in the family, I'll just have to hope for some advantageous trades out of it  :p
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I kind of wish it was an arbitrary number in the replies like fourth reply, third reply, and so on.

yeah, I agree. And this method makes people WORK at getting the clacks. It's hard work and a lot of time commitment. Only for the serious ones, hehehe  :thumb:

That would work well, you'd still have to be on the ball but at least it wouldn't go to the person with the best ping every time.

I would like this method more if it wasn't so easy for people to cheat at....

Edit: not accusing anyone in particular, but the cheaters know who they are.

I've seen all of the time differences between when Clack unlocks few thread and people post and it is a little perplexing how someone could post one second after Clack unlocks.

But, maybe there is some faster method of replying I'm just not aware of. Only the clack gods know :))

Nope, it's impossible unless you are using a page script like a dirty *******. Although CC never stated it was not OK to do that, plus there's not really a way to prevent it so **** everyone else, right?

Tapatalk probably is quicker. Only has to get plain text from the server rather than all the images and css.

I agree wholeheartedly, but still, we know the extent to which people are going to go to win them.

I think he probably is aware, but if you feel that way, I think you should alert him to the probability of that happening. The only thing he can really do to stop it is designate a window of time between which he posts and replies are allowed in which new posts will be ignored.

Can I come borrow your internet connection? I'd be better off with a string and a couple of cans hahaha

I thought I was going to have a little bit more luck last week as work upgraded to a 20 megabit fiber link - had to switch back to our ****ty DSL because there is something wrong with the fiber connection :(

I've heard of some wizardry with tapatalk, so I wouldn't completely throw the idea out of the window

As a Tapatalk supporter, the only wizardry I can think of about it is that it is very barebone when it comes to page reloads, so, it is faster as compare to using Chrome to load the whole thread and all those formatting and such, since Tapatalk stripped down all the graphics and complexities. It still requires constant "pull to refresh" and monitoring.

My posts were all done manually with Chrome and crappy DSL, so don't give up hope.

Can I come borrow your internet connection? I'd be better off with a string and a couple of cans hahaha

I thought I was going to have a little bit more luck last week as work upgraded to a 20 megabit fiber link - had to switch back to our ****ty DSL because there is something wrong with the fiber connection :(
Fiber that is 20 megabit? :-[ :'( rip bro

Straya. We were supposed to have gigabit fiber rolled out to every household but then the baby boomers voted in the current Liberal prime minister and he ****ed that up for everyone. Now we're all stuck using ****ing copper for god knows how long :(

It's rough being a tech fanatic in Australia.
A liberal stopped spending? Everything is upside down in Australia! :))

Wah, I really wish I could get fiber, but it's not available where I live.  My DSL is only ~5Mbps/200Kbps.  I could get better speeds with cable, but I hate the cable company.

Liberal only in name, they're policies certainly aren't.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

naasfu's DSL of 5MB is the same as my Fiber which is 5MB, lol. I wonder if I were being shortchanged by my ISP.

I find it interesting that he has many ranges. We have seen $50, $75 and $100. Then came $65!

There will still be email sales in the future right? I don't think I have the dedication to just keep refreshing until I get a cap.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done
