Gotta watch other people's kids. Who wants to txt me when **** happens? Who doesn't have my # by now? Who just wants it to talk **** to me? I missed clackvent last year due to Destiny. This year I may have some time.

I'll grab an American sim this week, then I'll hit you up, babe

Yessssssssss! Then we can facetime to the rap cabin.

Well if you have iPhone we could do that now! But I'll be in America with a new number for a bit, travel FaceTime!

I'm really excited, I really want my first clack. The last clackvent went on for around a month and a half, right? I counted, but I am not too sure. Also, do we remember what each clack was based off of the price? I would guess that the Skulls are 65$ and Gumrots are $115 or was it $150?
The last one lasted for about two months, but the last stretch of it was a bit inconsistent due to his health. The pricing tiers themselves didn't really guarantee a certain type of keycap, but it did seem that Topre and BS got more "value" out of the lower tiers than those that chose MX did (trizkut's $50 MK II and strict's $65 Candy Corn + Fn, both Topre, being some of the more notable value gets).

And I'd recommend you all wait for him to confirm the event and outline the rules before disrupting your life for it. Last year's event started on Christmas day, so that'd be a couple weeks of being on pins for nothing if you started watching for it now.

It's already kind of started. He has one thread he opened up and closed shortly after in which he's selling some caps.

He created a thread, but he didn't outline the rules or post anything for sale in it (other than the Bull Gnome made him do it, which could be taken as he's ****ing with us because he knows how much power he still holds).

Should be interesting to see. I'll be going to CO for work for about a week starting Tuesday. I think I'll be on mobile only which is going to be unfavorable.

The new Clackvent thread read like a practical joke to me, but we'll see. Not going to lose sleep until there's something to lose sleep over.

It was also very easy to bot the previous sale, so I'm hoping if he runs another it's a different format.

Most likely, yes.

But A) it's Clack's call on how to handle that, and he works in mysterious ways, and B) there are a couple legitimate methods that would allow such fast replies without scripting, so it's hard to prove one way or the other.

In the end, he decided to stop giving the caps to the first responder and randomized it, so that was his method for stopping scripters.  And btw I'm not fussed about any of this, just tellin' it like it is.  :thumb:

Last year's event started on Christmas day, so that'd be a couple weeks of being on pins for nothing if you started watching for it now.

hardcore collectors always watch weeks in advance haha120058-0

The new Clackvent thread read like a practical joke to me, but we'll see. Not going to lose sleep until there's something to lose sleep over.

It was also very easy to bot the previous sale, so I'm hoping if he runs another it's a different format.

First come first serve is ****. Unannounced first come first serve is sadistic ****.

Clack is the legend, the innovator, etc. but his sale formats are horrible.
To be honest, except for the ancient EK sales I never understood how a Clack Sale works, so twisted and complicated I've always felt like Elmer Fudd after he got screwed by Bugs Bunny  :))

You get quick or you get lucky.

You don't really need to know how it works anyway.  You see a thread, you post in it.  If he tells you to post a specific thing, you follow instructions.

Maybe you'll win something - who knows??

looking at the post times in the last clackvent thread, the fastest shooters were posting <10 seconds after CC, pretty damn fast

I wonder what the polling/update/refresh time for threads on the Spy page is

Some of the posts were insanely fast.  There were many posts made within 1 second of the thread being unlocked last year.

Edit: And I just checked, Spy refreshes every 7 seconds.

<1 second replies kinda implies that people were running some sort of script/addon to keep on sending post requests right..?

Most likely, yes.

But A) it's Clack's call on how to handle that, and he works in mysterious ways, and B) there are a couple legitimate methods that would allow such fast replies without scripting, so it's hard to prove one way or the other.

In the end, he decided to stop giving the caps to the first responder and randomized it, so that was his method for stopping scripters.  And btw I'm not fussed about any of this, just tellin' it like it is.  :thumb:

yeah I did see how he switched it up eventually, I especially liked the last day where every poster got a cap

i figured mr. "..." was scripting, he only missed one opening after switching to that reply and was typically in the first three posters each time (or tied on time). i was on a seven second autorefresh on the reply page and i wasn't anywhere near that fast/consistent, as anyone loading the reply page almost always had to deal with crippling load lag.
