I got one also. It's much larger than the Model M logos.

My solution to getting a Model M logo. Find a junked keyboard and get the case piece with the logo so that it can be recovered. I just got a case piece from a vendor who has junked Model Ms. The piece that I received came from a 1391401.

Recovering the logo shouldn't be too hard. That's my next project. The big question is what adhesive to use to attach the logo to the Model M case that I'm repairing.

Won't that be awfully thick?

Rubber cement is probably the best for attaching it. Household caulk or sealant will work but be careful and only use a tiny amount.

I trust that anyone with a junk metal-badged model M/F knows to remove that badge if they discard the case. A few drops of naptha (old-fashioned cigarette lighter fluid) will soften the original adhesive.

Don't understand. I'm removing the logo sticker from the case piece and then adding the logo to a case top that needs a good logo

Thanks for the suggestions. I was going to start with GooGone to loosen the label. Will experiment on the damaged logo that needs to be removed first.

I'm sorry, I have not examined a newer Model M closely in a while. I was thinking that the label was embossed into the plastic and/or painted.

If it is a thin clear plastic, then a light spray adhesive might work best. The trick will be preventing it from curling, since it is likely to be stretched as you remove it.

The Model M logos are probably adhesive 3M labels... maybe layered. The surface is a very durable plastic. They can be removed intact. Thanks for the idea about using a spray adhesive. I didn't think about that and it would work perfectly. I have a can around here somewhere.

The #1 trick for removing labels, stickers, heck even BUMPERSTICKERS!

a hairdryer

They get hot enough to warm the glue without warping the label 99.99% of the time.
Plus, since the glue is already warm so you can re-use it or remove it with alcohol very easily.

I'll try a hair dryer. I'm curious as to whether that will work with 25 or so year-old adhesive.

This thread sent me to my junk pile. I took a black label off a 1993 Lexmark in 15 seconds with naptha (lighter fluid).

which one are you after: I have a dome-model M keyboard that I'm slowly parting out (I may bolt mod it someday)
