The nail on my big toe is really ingrown and it hurts pretty bad, especially since I accidentally kicked my desk today.

People I work with overstepped their bounds of what they're supposed to do in their role with one of my cases about 9 months ago.  Thought I put a halt to it, but they kept doing it without my approval or knowledge.  Other people slept on the issue.  It's now blown up in our faces despite my push to get it resolved ahead of time.  Now the party who caused the issue is saying that it's not their problem and they can't do anything and the other party is trying to delegate all their work to me.

I mean it's not like I'm busy enough as it is already or anything. /s

I had my first negative experience with Paypal.  Buying a keyset, and they put the payment into pending status.  It seems like they'd tell you that *before* payment was made, so you could choose not to make it.  Paypal needs to die a painful death.

I get the pending of receiving money when you are a new seller on eBay but why in the world would they put a payment you make to someone in pending status?

It makes no sense when you're going from private party to private party.  The only thing I can figure is the volume over the past couple of months.   This hobby man,  it will drain you dry.

I emailed him.  Said they had "technical difficulties".  It's always something.  Now, Ponoko, they would have shipped the parts that weren't delayed immediately and then shipped the delayed parts later, but not BBS.

Last time he modified my design while programming it into the CNC so that all my switch cutouts were too small.  So he agreed to remake the part but instead of remaking the plate, he remade one of the random spacers that I didn't need.  I just went to Ponoko and got much better results.

Seriously, use Ponoko for Acrylic.  For waterjet metal cutting I haven't found a replacement, but I will.

What is it that you're doing which requires waterjet? Usually laser is better for keyboard related stuff.

I wouldn't say bad service so much as just inept.

Waterjet is for cutting aluminum case parts.  If you know of a place with better prices, by all means let me know.  I pretty much always do 1 at a time.

But is there any particular feature of the part that requires watercutting? I can't say I've ever seen a keyboard plate, or other keyboard-related 2D part, that couldn't be done with laser cutting.

I have a place that's amazing, but it's in the UK. Shipping would likely kill it for you.

I've never yet found a place that will make one-off prototypes that also has an industrial scale laser cutter that can do anything more than the thinnest aluminum.  I'm getting 1/4" aluminum cut.  Typical lasers can't do that.

Ah, I see. That is thicker than your typical keyboard plate/laser cut part.

That said, the place I use can laser cut up to 10mm aluminium. The shops are definitely out there if you look hard enough :)

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

What kind of word is a "manhole"?
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. What kind of word is a "manhole"?

In the US, it is a (usually cylindrical) hole for a man to go down into in order to service the internal parts.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work that you're in front of a record store?

I would say bad service so much as just inept.

Waterjet is for cutting aluminum case parts.  If you know of a place with better prices, by all means let me know.  I pretty much always do 1 at a time.
But is there any particular feature of the part that requires watercutting? I can't say I've ever seen a keyboard plate, or other 2D part, that couldn't be done with laser cutting.

Actually, I was taking a look at Pololu, and their lasers can't do aluminum at all because of the shine.  If there's a shop that does small amounts then by all means, I want to know.

I had a hunch.

I feel like most construction workers aren't usually vinyl aficionados either, but I won't touch that either.

You'd be very surprised what most "manly men" construction workers are into lol. But yeah, I blame halverson, LSB and dgneo for my vinyl addiction.

Damn you!!!

Well it all started when I was holding down the block. I decided to build a PC one day and while searching came up on ocn.net and then saw an HHKB and googled that and found ek. Then met reaper and he told me about gh and the rest is history and here I am annoying all of you. So blame reaper.
