Keyboard related? Ghostbro. I think it's the only GirlDC caps I've ever seen that I really wanted. I just can't justify $100 for a cap.

A high end 30 inch IPS display.  So much money

This!  Although I would also be very happy with one of those superwide displays as well.  I am also trying to justify upgrading from my Phenom to Haswell and getting a set of coilovers for my Fit.

And since you wanted more pics:

wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

Would also love one of the LE Cherry G80-1865 to get a new set of the WoB caps but they're about $250 shipped :|
Show Image

you know these aren't Double Shot caps on these right?

What makes you say that? They sure don't look lasered.

look at the part numbers of the keyboards, they all start with "L" after the number which means Laser

G80-1865LYNEU-2   MX Red Switches
G80-1865LWNEU-2  MX Blue Switches
G80-1865LXNEU-2   MX Brown Switches
G80-1865LPNEU-2   MX Black Switches
G80-1865LENEU-2   MX Clear Switches

you can also see on the small right shift the text is vertically higher, not centered which only happens on laser. Its vertically center on DS
you can also see on the PrtSc/SysRq & Pause/Break keys that all the text is on the top which only happens on laser. On DS its not all on the top with SysRq & Break being on the front of the key

Damn the taobao link I was looking at must have been wrong, could have sworn the model number I looked at started with H.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Dolch set from Originative. It's the set I have had my eyes on since before my first mechanical keyboard. I absololutely love the keyset but unfortunately money has always been tight for me and I don't ever tend to splurge on myself. I have to find the best keycaps for the best price!

At $95 for a TKL set I think they're some of the best value caps around right now. Even if you found one the SP replica sets you'd be paying close to that, same for vintage Dolch.

yea the taobao link is wrong as there has never been a g80-1865 that came with double shots (the ones that did on taobao don't appear to be legit original's but frankenboards)

only the earlier g80-1863's had that option, such as the white wNv or raptor K1
when things switched to g80-1865 everything was lasered only

Cheers for the heads up, I've been keeping an eye out for the Raptor boards but I've only seen lasered or really worn doubleshots so far.

I have a nice ZR2440w from HP and even that came with two dead pixels.  Its not an issue you can avoid if you want a big LCD.  I don't even see them day-to-day.

Now, hot pixels are what you should be worried about.  They aren't very common anymore. See if the warranty covers that.

Well, if we're talking keyboard related then the list goes like this:

- µTron
- One of those special HHKBs, or even just a normal HHKB
- SSK
- 55g RF
- Any Korean Kustom

The list of stuff I want is probably scary long, I don't dare try making a list of it all.

A lot of these responses seem to be along the lines of "really want but cannot afford" rather than "really want but cannot justify", the latter which would seem to imply that you can afford it, but cannot justify the expense.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Keyboards: A Tactile Pro

Other hardware:  A R9 270 perhaps, maybe a blu-ray burner (can't believe these are still 80 USD), maybe replace the 4x4Gb memory setup with 2x8

Sundry:  Volumes 39 to 62 of One Piece, which although I have already read, I feel odd putting 63 next to 38 on a bookshelf.

maybe because i don't really know particularly where to look for cheap ones...but looking at china's taobao site, one of these vintage blues cost RMB20, which is about USD$3.30 each

Something that I want, but can't justify buying would be the Gon NS 87. That $400 pr is tag!

I would buy that if i had the cash.

But what i cant justify is the HHKB type-s

Oh THIS.  That is really the perfect answer.  Type-S is such a stupid premium over the already expensive HHKB.  Even if you can afford it, how can you justify it?

If I magically came into $3000 I'd totally buy one of these.

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

That Nikon is super-cool.. Full frame, top shelf features in a classic body.. mmm, good.

I guess I did go off-topic a little with non-keyboard stuff. Keyboard-related stuff:

A jdcarpe style 40% board (so cute and can be fully functional with careful layout programming),
the HHKB Pro 2 (want to try Topre),
KBT Pure or GH 60 (nice layout 60% with moddable keyswitches)

Problem is I can't justify any staggered boards any more, no matter how cool I think they are, since I built my ergo board.

Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

This thread has kinda gone off the keyboard topic, wonder if it should be moved ...

So much lust for that camera.  Every camera I've owned has been Nikon and my D70 needs some upgrading in the future since the CF slot is starting to go bad.  I did work with Canon, but I have a special spot in my heart for Nikon.  Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a camera like that.

Is that a 35mm?  Man talk about outdated tech.
