Does anyone know what are the current requirements (number of posts in the forums etc..) one needs to meet in order to be elegible for a BroCaps Sale?

Alright. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I've already left a couple posts today, one showing my two keyboards.

Since I've got my 1st mech I knew I just couldn't stop at one... I already bought another one (and got a 3rd incoming) and I just found out about the artisan market.
I couldn't be more happy to be here. I may have found a new hobby!  :))
The talent of these artisan makers is wonderful... some of these keycap look stuning. I was lucky enough to be selected in the SnacKeys Mini-Sale. One Watermelon (MX) is coming my way. It's gonna be my 1st artisan and hopefully the 1st of many.

50 posts is an acceptable line I'd say, I'll get there in no time, hehe.

tree fiddy

srs talk, 50. and I really hope it stays that way cause people from other forums keep bickering how "they are upset about how its 50 , they won't support Bro sales, and rather buy from another artisan maker (no names mentioned) ."

Edit: damnit. fire brand beat me to it!

Pretty sure Bro's most recent post said he is considering removing the post count limit.

Please for the love of god don't just post because you want to enter a BroCaps sale.

And all those people from other places who blatantly stated they are protesting Bro sales because of post counts, won't support Bro sales and rather support another artisan maker (won't mention names) decides to join in on the sale.

I would support their decision, but at least stick to it. Don't jump back and forth!

Post requirements - we are still considering stuff on this, but I am leaning towards none for the next sale.

Or not 50, as the case may be?

I'm not posting with the single idea of increasing my post count, don't worry. I am posting here for the 1st time today because I found myself getting slowly more interested in mechanical keyboards and the whole "lore" surrounding them. I'm a member of GeekHack for a week or two now but I was only lurking before.  :p
I am also in r/mk and Deskthority and I have been posting in there for quite a few months now. People told me GeekHack is a nice, more serious and more focused community, so I decided to join in here too. :)

I don't even know if I will like what Bro will have to offer in his next sale, but I must admit that his designs are all great so far. He's probably the artisan maker that makes the stuff I like the most right now.
I am certainly interested in buying one of his caps someday, but I can wait, there's no rush.

It's good to be a part of this community. I feel I can learn a ton of things about mechs just by browsing through the forum and reading the reviews and the posts by the elders in here. :)

Btw, the multi-quote system confuses me, I still can't figure out how to multi-quote properly. Maybe I'm just a noob at it lol.

You can select "Multi-Quote" on a bunch of posts then press quote on one, and it queues up all the ones you quoted into one post.
Also, you can quote a post first, and add a quote from the "Topic Summary" part under the box where you type out your reply, which I find much easier.
Also worth noting that many people appreciate it if you trim your quotes if you're replying to a long conversation, it just makes it easier to read. You can do this by using in  [ more ] and [ / more ]

Congratulations zombly, hexterdude, sinanju, crayzieap and happyturtlee!

And you know what this means?  More therapy for the rest of us!!1!!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Disclaimer: THIS IS NOT BRO CAPS, THIS IS A IMITATION

I being new to artisans have to be careful myself that some scammer doesn't pass these off as real! Any other way to distinguish a real/fake bro cap?

There is a full catalogue available and you can ask in there about colour variations, on top of that you simply try and back-track the caps origins. K3 isn't actually that good at making clones of Bro's work so it's not usually very difficult to work out if it's real or fake with decent pictures.

Looking at those fakes it's pretty clear (least to me) that those are fake due to how they look from various angles...

Not just the slurpee, he imitated a lot of the other colors too....

Thanks! Being relatively new I could definitely see myself having a hard time distinguishing! But I'm sure there are so many helpful members on here who would gladly be willing to vouch and help out if the situation arises!

K3 stamps his caps on the bottom. So always ask for the upskirt if you are doing a trade.

Just saying even that's pointless if we get someone Photoshopping the bottom personally now with v2 I wouldn't even trade unless I see the winning email from ctrl alt or bro as it's super sketchy now

Pink slips only.

If you're that paranoid about counterfeits to ask for winning emails, you're a) letting the terrorists win and b) never going to get a Bro from before the Cosmos sale because these things change hands multiple times.

Poor taste on the joke, and I already have one from a first party trade from the comso sale, so yeah...

also as they clearly are getting better at counterfeiting them now I would and will ask to see proof of a keys origin if possible, kinda silly not to, but thankfully I rarely trade so its not too big of a issue with me, but for those that trade more often I would recommend trying to find out first

The joke wasn't in poor taste it just wasn't good.

Also I feel like you guys are making the problem out to be bigger than it is. I found it pretty easy to confirm the Reapers I was buying/trading from people were real and legit and that those people I was doing business with where people I could trust.
It's impossible to totally protect yourself 100% of the time, just be vigilant and smart about how you carry out your business and you'll be fine.

Maybe just seems a little bad for the current week, but anyway moving on I'm not trying to just saying I would be very wary of trades currently most will be fine but just saying is all.

I saw that post too :(

Of all the K3 caps, the Brobots are the closest in resemblance... I don't think you could mistake a Lobo for a Lycan... xD

Can't believe they have Bro mark and everything...

All the redditers say the majority of people on there are good, then you look at the logic and levelheaded posts that are all downvoted and the stupid crap that is upvoted...

How rare are Ribbits? I've seen only one or two since joining but I'd really like to own one eventually.

gonna buy from sales only, no more classified (Attachment Link)

I feel the same. I feel that if I win one then I'll be the first and original owner. Sure, getting the ones I want may take longer, and I'll never own some of the ones I've lusted after in the past, but at least I'll pay no more than retail and could boast that I won it purely on dumb luck.
The only time I'll consider a previously owned one is if it's being raffled or sold for charity, or something.
