Not 9000k post requirement?

I'm not supporting you any more, V2 Cap!

But really, I think 50 posts seems like a nice requirement without asking for "too much" of people who are on other sites more often then here.

Should make it a 9000 post requirement, then I'd get two entries in every sale :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Everyone withdraws into their own small gated community, afraid of a larger forum. I think my main issue is, people who contribute daily will continue do so in their "home" forum, so to speak. People who just "want a bro" will post nonsense till 50 PC.

This entire system of post requirements seems to encourage ****posting more than actual participation. Sure, you'll get a few legitimate participants, but I don't see it being worth the while.

And.. uh.. kindly ignore the irony of my current participation please.
Don't forget that Bro's intent is to focus on GH as the community of choice as this is where he started in. That is his home forum, to use your words. But if people are just posting here to get to 50 post and then kept quite and be not active in GH, then you are defeating the intent and purpose of that rule.

When I first saw the 100 requirement, it worked on me. I mean this as in I actually started navigating the other subforums on geekhack and not just the typical vendor, artisan, and group pages I mostly lurk and ask a question here or there in the interests of purchasing.

I think 50 is a happy medium even if I agree with 100 posts. I don't feel "forced" to post.
Was a geekhack member join date also taken into consideration?

I don't care what caps are in it, I just want to call it Rustlemania.  If you really wanted to make it fun, you could face designs off of each other where you could only pick one or the other.  Only the one with the most people wanting it would get made.  One cap becomes the belt holder and a random person who ordered that cap (not necessarily wins it), gets the "belt" by way of a dibs ticket.

I mean, I'm just spitballing with fun them ideas even if they're totally unrealistic.  I just like to have fun with hypotheticals.

When I was little I visited Florida and was given a chicken leg and was told by my dad it was alligator meat. Went home feeling like a badass, only to get all my hopes and dreams crushed two weeks later.

That was alligator bait, not alligator meat. ;-)

Probably because it is just about introducing yourself. 100 posts is easy, even with the "restrictions".

Usually people just post one or two comments there to introduce themselves. It's just a place to stop in and say hi to the community before diving into the other subforums.

Not sure how accurate this would be, but looking at his posts, he has 515 pages of 50 posts, so that would be at least 25700.

He's technically got 25938 (519 pages), since when we "delete" posts we really just move them to a hidden section. The discrepancy is all of the posts that were removed (probably unlikely due to any wrongdoing on his part ;) ).

On topic I can't imagine being an artisan cap maker, so much crap to deal with just to make us keyboard geeks go 'squeee' over a cap.

I just hope bro caps does what he can when he can and doesn't burn out over all the drama.

I don't think Bro will burn out on the drama, at least I hope not. Forum drama or indeed any drama is almost essential when groups of people form together. Every social or family group has drama of one kind or another it's just life.

What Bro has done with his work is create a really special thing, he slowly built up he skills to make the best caps on the market, surpassing Clack and everyone else. He's been open about his work and still contributed to the forum. When he needs help he gets it from those of us who really appreciate his work and what he gives to this community and his caps are the subject of more donations and giveaways than any other while still having crazy high demand for them.

Through hard work Bro has done this and his work only continues to get better and better, I don't think a few tears before bedtime should be anything he has to worry or stress about.

do we still require post count now?

Yes.

Can someone explain what subforums are excluded fro post counts.  I find it confusing.

New members, classifieds, and off topic don't count.

"New members" don't count?

Isn't the whole idea of this to get new members involved..? You'd think that'd be the place to go..

Nah. Only the "keyboard content" related subs count.  :thumb:

I don't want to know what Rowdy's post count would be if new members was included

Hook me up with my magic number hoff

On topic I can't imagine being an artisan cap maker, so much crap to deal with just to make us keyboard geeks go 'squeee' over a cap.

I just hope bro caps does what he can when he can and doesn't burn out over all the drama.

22363 ;)

Looks crazy, the Zombro 2 is one of my favourite designs. I adore my Blood Pact, but it's too bad it's red.

Fleshy/bloody colourway is 2 spooky.
