I like Bros and have not yet won one in a raffle, this now seems unlikely as I just don't have that much to say

Having been part of various online communities since ye olden days I've found there is always a theme of drama more or less equaling popularity. People rage about this or that endlessly. When the rage died down you knew the crowd had moved on. People rage and obsess because they are really into things. One day someone like Bro will post some requirement and no one will care. On that day, you'll know custom keycaps have changed from a trend to a hobby.

Heck man, I've only been on Geekhack since late march! I feel like im pretty active around here and stuff but I don't have 100 posts yet!!!!

Here's to +1 more and a whole ton of posts ill be making for no reason in the next week  :)
Honestly I am afraid to post things. Sometimes it's in the wrong sub or the the wrong thread and a few people are totally not nice About it at all.
This is pretty much where I find myself. I want to take part in raffles and what not but as a new user I don't really have the time to make 100 posts. I've just started browsing around this place and getting used to it only to find that it's getting more exclusive and more difficult to take part in some aspects and it is not very appealing. Now some people will of course use this as reason to dismiss me and say that I obviously wasn't right for the place anyways but is that what you really want out of a community?
I was kind of mad at the new 100 post limit, then I reminded myself I've already got in on some sales... so might as well let some more active users enjoy Bro's work.

Though... I do find it hard to keep up with both kb communities on reddit and gh, and I honestly find myself on here less and less... too much **** to do, too little time.

I just hope cherokey isn't my last bro :(
I like Bros and have not yet won one in a raffle, this now seems unlikely as I just don't have that much to say

If you all want some good quality, never criticised posts with no fear of wrongdoing have a look in Making Stuff Together! and Ergonomics where there are always people asking for thoughts on layouts and the like.  Or if you have lots of money comment on some Interest Checks for future group buys.

These sections aren't frequented by those who are just here to collect caps so there's no drama but instead a bunch real keyboard enthusiasts trying to make their perfect keyboard and your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's as you've used one so have an idea what will work for you and you have an opinion on colour combinations.  The other threads in MST are people posting their latest creations and a quick comment of encouragement is always appreciated :)

If anyone wants some guidance as to where to post their new thread feel free to PM me, it's sad that some people make you scared to post but my intro to this site was posting the same topic six(?) times (I kept getting an error, never had one on any other forum or here since - terrible timing) for which I received an angry PM so I know where you're coming from.  Once you get that right you will find this is actually a very friendly place.  Except for Demik who just seems to hate everyone and everything most of the time but don't take him too seriously, he's nice too!

I've been drifting away from artisans as of late. I  would like to get a couple different caps if I could, but I have lost my love for them, I don't like the drama, or really the attitudes it brings out in people.
I have to agree with you. Some time ago the drama around this affected me in a bad way, brought up feelings in me that I'm not proud of, in the mean time I managed to get away from all of the bad feelings. Now I'm relaxed about this, I still feel good if I manage to snap a cap in a sale hell I feel great, I enjoy to watch what people get and the photographic skills but I no longer feel salty and bitter. I enjoy more talking with people and admiring what they do with their boards and caps.
Anyway I feel there is way too much talk about something we don't have any right to judge, Bro wants to keep having fun and develop his art further more and not be just a caps molding machine. He has this right and if we want to see more amazing and original creations we have to respect and support his decisions.

I skipped the past 3 or so pages after Bro's reply. Just want to publicly put out a message of support. You do you, family is important and I +rep you and the rest of the Ctrl Alt gang for taking appropriate time for your personal life. Some of the most mature members of the community and the people I most enjoy talking/listening/reading.

In a strange way, I'm looking forward to a "return-to-form" of sorts. Lately it's felt like the up-scaling of BroCaps was going counter to the artisanship (can't explain entirely, but it felt... different; less like art and more like a product). I'm all for smaller batches of caps if it means more artistic enjoyment, because I believe it really shows in the end results. And that's what I enjoy in artisans, the work and thought put into them and the community enjoyment and celebration.

I dont think that's how it's supposed to work man

Thats not nice bro, I've been signed up to geekback a few months before you and your going to talk down to me because you have 30 more posts than me?

I don't like to force post like this, but my favorite thing about keyboards are bros artisans. I only own 2 keyboards and 5 bro caps, and 2 HKP caps. I feel like you can only use one keyboard at a time and owning multiple is kinda... meh.. but artisans just sit all cute like!

Holy ****.

First of all, he was not talking down to you. Second of all, he wasn't saying anything about your post count in comparison to his post count. I took his comment to mean that he doesn't think you should be making posts for "no reason."

I think Bevo read that as you're going to be posting single word replies but Bro would call those **** posts anyway, so there's no point in that - you need to post something meaningful (as everything I've read from you so far has been :) )

If you like Artisan caps Making Stuff Together! is where the less famous makers showcase their works in progress, doesn't look like you've posted anything in there yet?

Every artisan starts from somewhere. To appreciate the end product you need to appreciate how they got their in the first place. Burnt plastic to you is hard work and dedication to someone else. Show some respect

I just read about this and wanted to put in my .02    I usually stay away and check in every now and then.   I usually don't post because if I need to say something or ask a question, the 10 people who have replied before me took care of that.  This is interesting for sure, but I don't believe it will last long.

This was a decision I made for more personal reasons. In case you didn't know, I have been putting in way too many hours trying to 'make everyone happy'.
Unfortunately, that was making my family unhappy. I was putting myself in the position I never wanted to be in, in the first place; mass marketing. I am not
a corporation, and I am not looking to mass produce anything.

I have been listening to the complaints of 'he doesn't produce enough', and trying to make those people happy. But who are those people I am trying to please?
People who really don't care where the trinket they stick on their keyboard comes from. People that support a talent-less hack/thief with no regard for the original
artist, because he is 'filling a void'? I am not saying those kinds of people don't exist on geekhack, as well, but it's much easier to know who is who here, as it's a
much more tightly-knit community.

I do this because I like this community, and I like sharing my work with people who appreciate where it came from, the thought and time/effort put into creating
the work. There are a lot of good people on reddit, and those people have also found a home here. I am not 'forcing people to socialize', but really 100 posts are
nothing if you contribute here and there, and participate in conversations. It's not like you are sitting in a room with people staring at you, you are at home, cozy
in your boxer shorts (or naked, who knows), so you are comfortable. There is nothing to be scurred of.

So I am sorry if this rubs some people the wrong way, but at least you get an idea of 'why'.

<3
I'm not here to join any of the arguments although some of you people are quite amusing but just want to add my support to someone I respect making decisions based on his values and making himself happier catering to himself and his family...! Do You ....and remember Ho bidness only works when your the pimp  :p

No need to cry, I won't dislike you for having and stating an opinion!

I do think you should take another look though or perhaps get some glasses - there are at least 5 other artisans making perfect sculpted caps in bright colours that I don't see how anyone could possibly be mistake for burnt plastic, and some new makers who look to be pretty close :)

But let's not get too far off topic. Is anyone else sad that there doesn't seem to be any information about a potential BBv3?

Yes!  I'm sure there was suggestion of a new Ribbit too...

I'm just waiting for a Romer switch compatible cap. There are literally dozens of use with that board and I'm sure at least one other would want a cap for it.  ;D

Not sure if you know but Bro himself is a fan so it could happen.  The central LED would work awesomely with the Ghostwood and Bloodwood Stumps which were teased, not sure what happened to them though.

I get salty just thinking about Ghostwood.   :'( :'( :'(
triz my friend I feel the stumpy sodium leaking from your eyes every time as if it was my own ghostwood and bloodwood look AMAZING someday hopefully  :thumb: also on another note I'm loving the way the new reaper is starting to look
