Back when these email sales were common, people would have times of 00:00 seconds and still not get in.   

I was such a noob the first time I entered an email sale - I waited a few seconds after the countdown to be sure my email did not get there too early )

Needless to say I was not successful in that particular sale.

The tough part is finding someone willing to part with one.  Every single purple trade I've had in the works has been either one where they disappeared or they wanted a completely unfair trade like a two for one.  I really hate the aftermarket.  So many people who are just shady.

Yeah, I've noticed that too...I finally gave in and did a trade for a bro purple and sold a second bot along with it at retail because they were the first person to even offer one up after months of looking.

I got lucky and had somebody decide to sell me some at just over retail. For about 90% of others, raffles or sales are the way they get their first.

Sometimes they go for retail (I'll be having another one go for retail soon in the classifieds once I decide which one), you can do an extremely lopsided and unfair trade of something uncommon or expensive for one (cap sets, keyboards, etc), or you can secretly offer up large sums of money for them since selling for more than retail can get you banned from sales (rightfully so IMO).  Those seem to be the three ways to get them outside of raffles and sales.

I'm not a huge fan of the raffles since there's no skill and no transparency.  I like the e-mail sales because of the suspense and the sheer insanity of it all. Even when you don't win it's fun.
