Well I'm in for 2Spooky, Wretched Zombro, Bloodlust Lycan, and Wicked Plum :3

I did mention in the note I only wanted two out of the four though.

Is it against the rules for me to post like crazy (without making irrelevant/spam posts) in order to hit 50 posts before the buy is over?  (I've lurked geekhack for years, but only just made an account now that I'm making purchases).

It will probably be difficult to make 45 meaningful posts before this closes. The people that have tried thus far have mostly been stuck posting trash, but then again it didn't look like most of them were making a real effort to make meaningful posts. I have a feeling that Bro/Cody/Bunny will be looking at the profiles of people that happen to win and have a low post count to make sure that their 50ish posts are not all junk.

I feel this is the sort of attitude discouraging meaningful input to the conversation. I dunno... takes a lot for some people to not be lurkers. I'm pretty introverted myself, so I get it. And I do understand Bro wants people to be contributing; however I think just having eyes on things is meaningful as well. I'm finally brushing off my shyness but hey, it takes time. Just my 2 cents...

I'm not at all opposed to meaningful input. I don't think anyone is. What I'm discouraging (and so are many others) is people going around bumping old threads and with pointless one liners just to hit 50 posts.

Sorry... reading too much into this stuff... and probably taking it a little too seriously. I guess like everyone here I'm pretty passionate about my keyboards and can get a little taken away with it :)

Noted.  Also just noticed that I made this account three years ago (I guess I really have been lurking for awhile).  Well I'll browse the forums as much as possible and try to make meaningful posts wherever possible without ****posting.  If I hit 50 then good, if not I'm not gonna make +1 posts in every thread I can find.  The zombros are just too amazing :swoon:

Also checking in for therapy, I'm currently broless and won't be participating in the current sale so I'll just have to drool over photos.

Admittedly, I've been posting more than I usually do (started to come out of my shell last week) to hit 50 posts and join the sale. Those lycans are too sweet to miss out on. I feel like it's really obvious to tell if someone is just posting one line comments that don't contribute anything to the conversation for the sake of +1. Although I've posted more today than I usually would, I actually put thought in my comments and really meant the questions that I asked (anyone else stare at their post for a while before actually posting out of anxiousness?). Hopefully more people are well-intentioned with their posts.

And with that I hit 50! It really was not overly difficult and hopefully some people got a smile out of my posts. No worries, I'm not just gonna disappear off the face of the planet now. :P

Not really therapy but I'm not sure where else to discuss Bro caps?  I'm wondering how short the Grumpkin is, wondering if a toothache would make a good number lock with an SA set (that is, is it short so hard to hit by mistake)

I wasn't able to sleep last night, I was sure on what I wanted, but the damn stem type was a killer.
If only Bro's MX stems were compatible with MX compatible Topre sliders

If I got one that I liked enough where I would never trade/sell, I think that's what I might do.
I'd also not want to do anything that may risk the structural integrity of the cap, not sure how important the rectangular stem is with the resin bro uses

It's a bug, bunny posted earlier it would be corrected when invoices go out.

Kinda noticed when you first look at your cart the shipping is $15 then when you go to checkout it changes to $7.50.

Interdasting.

turns to 15 again upon confirmation for me

the shipping should be 7 for conus and 13 international

this will be fixed by the time the confirmations go out

Made my ticket at around 6:15 Pacific time, and it said 17 hours left.
Maybe they should add a widget to current sales with a countdown timer, but I don't know how difficult it would be to add this

Does GH have a post limit per day? I was trying to participate in the sale and not ****post but its not counting them any more. I would really like a lycan.
I think the point from Bro Caps about keeping the sale to GH community (and the only way to numerically validate that is post count) is for you to be consistently active in GH, not posting until you reach 50 post, join the sale and then blend back into the darkness. Even if you reached 50 post in the next 17 hours, I am not sure if he will still count you as qualified.

Well then that should have been outlined beforehand. Not trying to sound rude or anything, just saying that it would have been good to know. I had to make 8 posts. 8. I think that probably all but 1 of those were 100% not **** posts. But I'm a little over 50 now. And so I guess if it's over something as small as 8 posts I'd be pretty disappointed.

It can be a nice thing that there's this requirement because it makes people more active. Yeah, there's a lot of garbage coming from it, but it's pushing people to post who maybe haven't in a while or just don't because they're nervous, shy, etc. so it can be a cool thing. But I can see how some people don't like it as well, because if making a few posts to make the limit makes me ineligible, then I'd feel like I'm 100% NOT a part of the community and that I'm being shunned for trying to get involved. It's a rough double-edged sword I guess.

These are just things I'm thinking about, I'm not taking any side really, just thinking about a few different things. :) I love keyboards and key caps and I love talking about them and look forward to building some soon. And I guess that's all that really matters.

Damn, this IS therapy...

You poor poor soul. Being forced to post. The cruel world we live in.

But I can see how some people don't like it as well, because if making a few posts to make the limit makes me ineligible, then I'd feel like I'm 100% NOT a part of the community and that I'm being shunned for trying to get involved. It's a rough double-edged sword I guess.

So by not meeting a tiny post limit, for one sale, you feel shunned by a whole community? Minimum post counts, karama counts or account creation date restrictions are standard on all kinds of forum/subreddit community participation events. The first simple reason is so that people cannot game the system. e.g. being able to have multiple reddit accounts for each bro sale to increase your chances of winning. Do you realise how it makes you look like someones alt account if you spam crap all over the forum inside of 17 hours?

Now when you meet the requirements for the next sale, you will probably have a better chance of winning something! And most of all, the people winning the caps will be community members like us and not some recluse who never posts. Meaning more cool keyboard pictures and discussions.

Just because it's not 'fair' for this one sale (and one sale only), don't try and call out a whole forum for 'shunning you'. Fair for the masses doesn't mean fair for every individual at every moment in time. A lot of people here try REALLY hard to keep a positive and friendly vibe going, but it's hard when this kind of childish entitlement is thrown around. So..Chill out, post at a comfortable normal pace, check your watched threads once a day and soon you will be hooked for real  :thumb:  When the next sale comes around you will not even be thinking about post counts and you will be thankful that other people in the raffle are not lowering your chances by gaming the system.

(PS alt accounts are banned by GH rules and bro DID specify ****posts will not be counted when he made this modification to his rules)
