Sale #2 should be up today and that will be a little easier on our wallets. Unless you buy multiple.

What have I gotten myself into? :))

hey folks

if anyone would like to pm me any feedback on the invasion sale id be much appreciated and happy to discuss it with people

for anyone who entered, id love some thoughts on the new checkout system and how the general experience of entering was

for anyone who didnt enter who usually would, id welcome your thoughts on why this isnt the sale for you (price, package contents etc) so we can use this info when working on future sales

plus stay tuned tonight guys for a more regular sale

ill make sure there is some overlap time on the 2 sales, so for anyone waiting to see all the offerings before deciding what they want, you will have the opportunity to have all the options

time to get that precision on point

thanks

I just think that some people weren't interesting in the extra goodies that goes along the caps,
some don't mind having both, but it should have been an option imo (either cap only or cap + goodie).

there will be plenty of sales with cap only options, including one today for those folks, but that particular character is part of a story ark, and we wanted to make the pack and launch a bit special, a ton of work went in to it, and whilst the extras may not be to everyones taste, every cap and sale will split an audience, itll be right for some and not others

Agreed.

Initially I was not too interested in the extra goodies, but after reading the story, and looking at the sale from a distance, I decided to enter, I like the whole set. Plus who doesn't want a Reaper T :)

But I might not be the targeted group.

I don't know I really love the extras, they are what pushed me over the edge of entering. I love the cap and think it's really amazing but it wouldn't fit on my hyperfuse (until I decide to let the whole number row to be artisans o.O), but the fact that this whole event felt really special made me have to enter. I don't usually buy collectors edition things. But I think this will be really cool. I'd love to see the entrance to the sale on the ctrlalt.io homepage though.

I thought the invasion sale was a neat idea and I certainly thought it appealed to the collector side. I wasn't completely sold on all the extras though. Just seemed like too expensive for what you were getting per se, but then again it was marketed to buyers who would be willing to throw down that cash. Maybe if it came out with a full fleshed out printed comic book, that would've been cool/worth it. Bro key-chains/pins would be a nice exclusive. As well as possibly a special type of packaging for a "collectors edition." Plus something you could use to display your bro cap along side the comic if you were to display both together.

Those are kinda expensive suggestions in terms of production, but I feel that would make it more special and worth it imo.

It is really interesting to see how the artisan scene is evolving, ahead the Bro Caps / [CTRL]ALT team. To give a certain cap a background story, a character makes it more appealing, in my opinion. The chosen setting for the story of the Reaper-N5 could be just as good a videogame, movie or similar. It is written quite excitingly. (Although the narrators point of view confused me at first, and made me mistake the Reaper as some kind of alien invasion force. Well, I was half asleep while reading.)

The idea to bundle the caps with other related merch as collectors edition is something I haven't seen before in artisan sales. On one side I like the cap, as well as the thought of getting a fitting shirt along with it, on the other side I'm not a huge fan of the shirts design. (I like minimal designs, but as experimental sale this kind of desgin will most probably attract more people.)

This also answers why I didn't join (yet) - at first the shirt, that while fitting the theme, is not quite my thing.
Secondly the price. While being appropriate for all the things included, it is still a lot of money, but Geekhack is really not the place to complain. (lol)

I suggest to offer more choices. Maybe an enemy fraction bundle, which includes a different shirt and sticker. Or simply letting people choose from shirt/poster designs. I know this is easy to say, but implicates a lot of work.

yeah i'd never wear a t-shirt or use a poster, but something that enhanced the keycap or fit in more thematically with keyboards/computers/the keycap subject would be intriguing to me. off the top of my head, a bundle example that i'd be interested in would be combining the reaper with one of switchnollie's sleeves (with the dank n5 art on it). ofc you can throw in other small extras on top of it, but the key is both items work together, both are guaranteed high quality, and both are in high demand- meaning the bundle would truly be desirable in terms of collect-ability within the mech community.

people on this forum also like guns and knives and ****, and they also like the entertainment media (vidya games, tv, movies, etc), so i'm sure you could mesh the concept of the reaper with accessories in those areas as well.

i do like the introduction of keycap lore though (and not just because it facilitates the introduction of memes).

I am solely after the cap and the extras are just icing on the cake. I wouldn't normally be after something like this but the cap is one I've been after some I first saw the picture Bro posted or since Punks v1 is related, since then.

It was much easier than previous sales to enter and I'm looking forward to today's sale.

I would also like to echo what btctopre said above, a sleeve would be awesome and the stories behind caps is a really great aspect.

One suggestion to also consider for a future sale is to make it a bro sale and list the items as an Add to Basket sale where people first pick a Bro Cap in whatever stem option or whatever, the next page is the sticker add on, the next  is the t- shirt add on, and so on. Then at the last page when they submit payment whatever, give them the price of their "bundle" and maybe an option to modify the bundle and place the order.

This gives you the best chance at making the bundle sale plus gives you a few extra sales by the people who "really only wanted ______ "

I play games on whatever i have in front of me. Currently my SSK.

It makes no difference to me, just because i'm bad anyway.

But back on topic. I feel like people always want to slim down to the essentials. You want the artisan and things that compliment the artisan or it being on the keyboard.
Not everyone will like a t-shirt design, such as this one with guns and whatnot, but that's part of the character and part of the cap's story. So yea, you may not like it and would rather pay less and opt out of things they dont like, but that defeats the purpose of the story.

Everyone will always have different taste, so like it has been said, some will join and some wont. It's kind of just like any other cap design. Some will like it, some wont.

Overall, reading people's opinion, maybe it would be nice to have an option to opt out of things, but that might take the special element out of the cap's story and just make it just another cap being sold
Small things like keychains are always fun and something everyone likes.

Maybe take a poll on what people would want to be included.

If people really didn't like some of the things included in the package, then speak up and give some feedback.

Like beehatch said, A display, keychain, or even special packaging would be nice. Nice details to the product will always make it feel like it's worth the money.

Well it's more than just an artisan, so it's $125. Rather than $125 for an artisan, and free stuff.

only artisans will be in the next sale.

It is expensive.  Considering that the sale is billed as limited edition, and the price is so high, personally I would like to see edition numbering.  Perhaps it's something that could be easily added to the Tru-Bro ID in the future?

I think the price would be worth it for the items provided.  It's ironic people complaining about $125 limited edition artisan + shirt + poster, etc. when the prices for other artisans are so high.

Yeah this is quite funny. People will buy a BBV2 for $125 (me too lol) but not a reaper+sticker+poster for the same price.

People are seriously fickle.

125$ on the aftermarket... I'd never go for that. Ill stick to getting into raffles and trying to trade for stuff. I can't pay 120$ for a single artisan when I could get myself a new keyboard for the same price

I'm uninterested in shirts posters stickers or anything other than artisans

and 125$  ?

Well it's more than just an artisan, so it's $125. Rather than $125 for an artisan, and free stuff.

only artisans will be in the next sale.

It is expensive.  Considering that the sale is billed as limited edition, and the price is so high, I would personally like to see edition numbering.  Perhaps it's something that could be easily added to the Tru-Bro ID in the future?

Yea, a bit pricey but I don't think it's tooooo bad.

Numbering would be cool. If that was added, I'm sure the ID would show what # out of lot it is. A physical number on the cap (kind of like the flux caps ClickClack made) could be a nice visual, though might take from the clean look of it. If there was a case/display, then the number could go there

I think the price would be worth it for the items provided.  It's ironic people complaining about $125 limited edition artisan + shirt + poster, etc. when the prices for other artisans are so high.

But if you are comparing a keyboard that costs $125 to artisans you should be talking about mass produced artisans too, rather than hand crafted ones.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Slim down???   Whatcha talkin' about!!   Okay, okay ...... just one more bowl of Brocaps!!!
