That RGBY mockup looks remarkably similar to feng's group buy

BIG Thanks!!   For All  Members  &  the Proxy Hosts!   :thumb:

Still if you have any problems with the Springs,  send me a message, please!    ;)

The Round 2  might be in Next month.   It will be 18K Gold Plated,  High-Glossy version, for fun !   :)

Any chance us US folk could get a sampler package that contained a couple of each spring weight?

The reason I got sampler springs to distribute was because I "bought" 220 total springs to distribute. :)

Ditto on another group buy. I've got it set in my mind to eventually mod a keyboard with clear switches and 62g springs.

Hi sprit,

I am going to place a order tomorrow, but I have a suggestion for you. Since a full size keyboard is like around 104~108 keys, will that be possible to have your 1 set spring from 100 to like around 105~110? (maybe you can add $.5 or 1 to cover the cost if its too expensive to do it this way?)

Hello!   ;)   You are right!      :thumb:
Sorry,  I missed that !   and  added  :  * for more extra pieces, put a comment please!      :thumb:
The main reason why 1set = 100pcs is,  I found lots of 60% and 87% Tenkeyless users in GH.
extra 10pcs will cost $1 for 18K version,  $0.6 for Normal version.

I ordered a couple sets of springs using your other group buy form. Can you cancel that order so I can join this group buy instead?

Regarding the sample packs, do we simply add a comment that we want one? How many of each spring will come in the sample pack? Will the samples be normal or gold?

Thanks sprit! We are lucky to have you as part of the community!

The gold plated ones tend to have a ~0.5g-1.5g variance.

And DAMN IT SPRIT IM SPENDING SO MUCH ON SPRINGS

So the normal springs would be the better buy? Or do they have a even higher variance?
Also, is the general consensus for Ergo-Clear's to use 62g springs?

-  Normal springs are very OK!  I love it.

It's Stainless metal, selected among many samples by me (this means a possible personal taste).    ;)

-  Gold-plated versions are made from the same Normal springs,  and Electro-chemically treated for goldplating.   ;)
More steps and processes make possible oppotunities of very slight changes, in a good, bad, or not noticeable way.
If some gold-plated springs have 0.5-1.5g variance, it is mainly due to the mechanical shaking during gold-plating, to prevent the springs stuck each other, in my opinion.
I have been tried to minimize those variations, working close with the factory.
There are other issues in gold-plating : slight thickness change, effects of different kinds of metals, surface smoothness, etc.
These need to be clarified in the near future, IMO.

i've seen both 62 & 65 mentioned quite a bit when searching the internet for tips on ergoclears. both are well clear of the 85g that Spirit mentioned as a comparison point for mx clears, but have a little more strength than the springs of reds/browns to ensure that it can get the key back up over the bump. a few people have talked about 62 still being likely to stick occasionally, so i opted for the 65s myself.

Basically I try to follow the Cherry original specs and GeekHack standard.

I have seen lots of different versions of Korean 62g from 2-3 sources for several years.
Some 62g of them are well known to be close to 60g,  some 62g are close to 62g.
These variations come from the design concept, length, coil turns, materials, heat treatment of the springs, etc, as we know.

Sure!  I tried to add some softness in my 50g - 75g springs, especially when start touching (press).
This comes from the design for the length, coil turns, materials, heat treatment, etc, too.

My 62g is definitely heavier than MX Blue, Brown 60g springs,  I love to use them daily on my keyboards.
(Actually I type Mixture of  MX Blue + my 60g + 62g + 65g + 68g on my keyboards)

I have been enjoying MX Blue original 60g springs for a couple of years,  Now come to love my 65g, and 68g (But I dont know how long it will go).    :)
and Always loving vintage MX black springs on old cherry boards. (G80-1000, NCR 0528, Wyse, 1501, etc)

MX Blue switch + 65g is more elastic, responsive, vivid clicky sound, more clear contact point  in my opinion.
These changes can be annoying to the original MX blue lovers, I am aware of that.
But I enjoy that since I swapped the MX Blue stock spring to 62g or 65g on my Dolch G80-1800 board.
Over 70g on Blue(Green) switches are too strong for me yet,  70g on Black linears are very OK for me.    :)

If I have understood well the S&H will cost more (7.5 euros) than a set of SS springs (4.5 euros)? Non-sense.

If I have understood well the S&H will cost more (7.5 euros) than a set of SS springs (4.5 euros)? Non-sense.

Shipping has always been expensive everywhere...That's why people shouldn't only purchase a single pack.  ;)

Now we have the same consumerism logic than Sam's Club?  :p

Totally agree !!   If the Cherry company supplies Switches with different springs,  We dont have to do this comedy.

I sampled some Alps switch springs years ago, to find better ones for my taste.
After all, found it is around 60~65g.

Just wanted to make sure you saw my post/questions, sprit.

I want to turn my reds into "sub-blacks" so I think I do not have any option but place my order. Maybe with 2 or 3 packs to compensate for the S&H cost.

The Sampler pack details Not decided Yet.  Need to talk with the Proxy helpers. ;)
Because 3-4 pieces each will be 30-40pcs in 10 small bags, it will increase the EMS weight, and the packing will be extra job for me, or for the proxy helpers.
Last time Zeal did it for Canadians with his extras.

*  Edited :  Sampler Kit  ideas updated in the order form.    :)

Thanks! I'll go ahead and place an order for just springs for now. Once the sample pack details get fleshed out I might have you add a pack to my order.

Just discovered your brilliant little Group Buy and put in an order for some GOLD goodness.

Have no idea how this will work but if it's provided I'm there in line wanting it, like a true addict  8)

Please let me know if the order I put through is correct and understandable to you.

Glad this is back up!  A little bit of advice needed... I really like my stock Clears because it is hard to bottom out thus making them pretty silent (I bottom out on Blues/Browns easily), but want to lighten them up a little bit because of finger fatigue over long sessions.

I see that Vintage Black springs (68-72g), and Black springs (75-80) are available.  If Clears are 85g should I be looking at mid-70's to still prevent bottoming out, but make slightly softer than Clears?  Is the difference (in terms of fatigue reduction) between Clear and Black springs noticeable enough to warrant the effort, or is Vintage Black perhaps the sweet spot that I am looking for?  Just get both and test?  Thanks!!
