Seems like a lot of folks are waiting for the white one. EK is down to 45 units from 48-50 yesterday -- I expected more people to jump on this.

I wonder when they're going to get in other new Leopolds. Almost all of the existing Leopold models are OOS or dwindling stock.

I am trying to resist this one as it is. I want to get my first topre board but I keep waiting for CM's version.

Is there a white pbt topre version of this leopold  that is supposed to come out? If that exists, I'll have to buy it. ;)

If a white one comes out I'll consider trying out topre rather than mx clears on the fc660m.

But, is there a picture of the actual keyboard?

There are products that have similar check marks on the case that make you think another version exists but never come to fruition.

i can't stand the unused space on the right side of the fc660. does noone agree? i haven't seen this complaint on these forums..
and why did they leave the spacebar ABS on the fc660? it's a dealbreaker for me.

i really want a full-pbt 60% with topre switches :(
if only there was a pure pro with topres. i can't really miss the dedicated arrow keys or pbt caps :/

I also dislike the unused space on the right. I've become a little more used to it after seeing the board a couple times.

The abs spacebar sucks. I forgot about that.

This is another reason to wait for the cm topre version. It's bigger but I can use my own pbt caps.

My exact thoughts. Coolermaster doesn't know it, but they're actually in a race with Leopold to get my money.

Actually I wish there were no buttons on the right but the 2 is ok for me. The simpler the better!

The dye has to be darker than the keycaps. White dyesub no es possible.

Looking at the box and the huge marketing wording on dye sub PBT kinda confused me. Hasn't it been like this all these time? Or has 660C been using ABS caps?

I believe HHKB and RealForce are all dye sub so this emphasis is surprising to me.

That's awesome, I am jealous!

The original printed version was pad printed PBT, not lasered.

Also, w/ regard to white model, my original production run Leo has white as an option on the box. So that may not mean much after all.

Yeah, in my opinion that was the only glaring weakness of the original FC660C. It was exacerbated by the  lack of replacement options. The dyesub version, to me, is a monumental 60% release. Mine should arrive on Thursday and I am excited for it.

Somehow I feel grey caps on black case is not as attractive as black on black or white-grey on black. And I also think it's gonna be hard to match this colour with caps.

It's already hard enough trying to find ANY replacement Topre keycaps!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

There's still plenty of key caps for the HHKB. I am glad I bought a blank set and grey-white printed already. You never know when they will be gone. You are right about RealForce though.

What is the serial number of your new leo? I was looking at the serials on mine, and I was shocked how low they were (below #1000, even a recently purchased one). I'm wondering how many FC660Cs even exist.

I agree. Aesthetically the HHKB is much more pleasing. But as far as practicality goes, this is hands down the most usable 60%-ish layout I've ever tried (especially for somebody who's used to a standard 87/104 qwerty layout).

Interesting. The pad printed one from 2013 that I have is 400-something. I wonder if pad printed original, blanks, and dyesub all rebooted serial numbers to 0? Maybe for each language, too?

That's a bad development for this keyboard science I just did... :(

FC660c is sexy, but I don't know if it's that sexy... HHKB would get my vote for that one.

I too think the space on the right SHOULD have 2 extra keys (Page Up / Page Dn). Especially when marking text holding shift, you don't want to hold an Fn key also.

But where do you guys see how much stock is left ?  I don't see that.

Nah just kidding. Ok that worked, thanks! Large amount and checkout did the trick. If it had 2 more keys I'd be all over it. Need a FC680C !

As the description says on the item I'm pretty sure the space bar is still ABS. In that case I don't really need the legends so I'd rather take the blank version of this keyboard instead.

I used to think that the HHKB looked a lot better than FC660C, but having owned both in the past I can say that I really like the sharp lines and angles of the FC660C. To me, the FC660C has a more adult look to it, while the HHKB is rather small and looks softer too. The new blank FC660C means business

Does the blank version have a PBT spacebar?

No.  But if you don't care about legends, the blank board is 30 bucks cheaper than the dye sub version.  So unless you really love grey or can't touch type, I don't see why the blank wouldn't be a better option.

The shipping to Australia kills it for me, are there any vendors with cheaper shipping to Australia?

You might ask qtan - he doesn't have any in stock at the moment, but might be able to get some.

Like said before, no it doesn't. But you can also order 2 replacement black Topre spacebars along with your blank FC660C and you'll be good for a while. You can't buy gray spacebars separately so if the one on the PBT dyesub set gets shiny then there's no undoing that wear and tear.

Hendy Zone could ship from Indonesia. I suppose that would be nearer to Australia.
