^ It is pretty garbage I had one before lol. Like it's not bad for the >$10 it's worth but... again, trash.
Just for the record, I have yet to find a better mic. People often comment on that my mic sounds great and this is when a friend who has a blue yeti is also in the call. I used to have large problems with it though, and that was when I used an Essence STX as a ADC which worked terribly. Now that I have a $3 ADC with the Zalman it works nicely.
I agree, for the money it can't be beat, especially once you calibrate it a bit in whatever software you're using. I use it in Teamspeak/Mumble and have never had anyone comment on the output quality.
I'm thinking of actually getting a standing mic though just so I don't have to tie the Zalman around my headphones. Anyone have any models they can recommend?
The Zalman
is a pretty poor mic, but I agree that it's worth every penny for the $10 you pay.
While I never had problems in Mumble when it was clipped to the cable of my Q701, other programs
that didn't use an amp-ing algorithm rarely picked it up.. so I rigged up this
:
It's not my idea. Someone from /r/headphones came up with the ingenious little mod and it makes the mic is so much better.
It's a big Zip-Tie with some black-tape wrapped around the end to give the tie a wedge.
It's dirty, but it works for the time being.
I'm currently waiting on the MicMod 4.0, but this little mod will surely hold me over until Antlion releases it (and knowing them,
they delay their **** a lot
).
