I was changing cases on my KB Paradise v60 and ripped off the usb , my soldering skills arent great (no experience) can i buy any conductive paste to get it back on? Or does anyone know somewhere i can send this to be fixed? 

So sad the board just got to me today

Thanks for the info moose, looking like a good time to buy a soldering kit and start practicing :/ crap! Atleast i can finally play with mx greens even if the boards dead

Sorry, It does not seems to be broken.
Use one magnification glass to be sure, if it's not broken you could try to re-solder it using hot air ...

You can see the pins still attached to the PCB. Am I seeing that wrong?

I'm w/ agodinhost on that one. The leads on the USB connector look like they are all where they belong. This kind of connector is pretty hard to resolder w/o hot air since the pins are underneath the shield.

You could easily fix that with a reflow station.

It doesn't look like any of the pins snapped, it looks like whoever soldered that didn't make a full connection to the pins(That's why there's that like 90 degree J shape on the solder), and the 4 side square solder points were just holding it in place. What you need is some good ol' fashioned leaded solder and a rework station.

If I had that board I could fix that in about 5 minutes, but I don't have time to do that kind of work anymore.

EDIT: Looking at it again, none of the solder points made contact with the port. All of the solder points have no signs of brute force, it looks like you just knocked it off place. Whatever keyboard this is, please tell me, so I never buy one of their products.

If you don't have a reflow station, you could do it bpiphany style. Man up and use a toaster! I also heard an oven works.

There's too much plastic to use an oven.

He's going to have to use either a heat gun or a reflow station. Either of them are risky, since there's so much plastic near the port, and the port itself has plastic inside of it. You can even see the Kapton tape on the port from when they had a bunch of chinamen in a sweatshop assembling this. If it was a surface-mount robot doing it, you wouldn't need Kapton tape.

Maaan im debating sticking the tip of a hot glue gun into tha solder and pasting it in that why, im doing this tomorrow. Thank you all for your help, this situation has been really frustrating!

However my kitty cat smacked my detached usb port somewhere and now i cant find it, does anyone know where i can pick up a replacement? Or if anyone has an extra i can buy off you,

Maybe practice soldering on some junk pcbs you have lying around. The mini USB connector jack looks like a tricky one. You definitely don't wanna melt any of the pads off.

I couldn't find many guides that weren't a bunch of monkeys calling them professionals, putting gobs of solder on a board and calling it repaired.

The closest thing to a SMT solderer that I think is a good teacher is this guy:

Since the board already has the solder points perfectly aligned, I recommend just touched up the pads with a small bit of solder, just enough to make the connection to the gob that already on there.

Make sure you use a pencil-tip soldering iron, not a wedge or something flat. You want as fine of a point as possible. Also only use a 10~20W soldering iron, set no more than 350 degrees. You're working with surface mount technology here, it's very prone to electric shocks, so make sure you ground yourself well before soldering.

Thanks for the tips and information, unfortunately i dont have anything laying around to practice on. My plan was to just reheat the solder and stick it back in. Also thanks for scaring the crap out of me!

Another option is to "upgrade" it by replacing it with a MicroUSB port. They can handle many more insertions and removals and are tougher. Of course it means you need to use a MicroUSB cable instead, though:

DOH! The tabs on those ones don't sit flush with the board and the only ones I can find that DO sit flush have a different tab arrangement (only 2 tabs), so they won't be a drop-in replacement... Sorry for the wild goose chase.

I would make sure to use a pair of tweezers or something as the USB port will most likely get very hot.
