He should be beaten for doing that to an SSK case, but at least he is completely honest in his description.

Not Real Great Find: Fake Industrial SSK on eBay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-Model-M-SSK-Space-Saving-keyboard-Faux-Industrial-SSK-ONE-OF-A-KIND-/141320217720

Yes, $1,999 BIN.  And a fukked up job at that.  Look at that paint job around the logo.  Is this from someone on the forum?

Please, everyone go make $1 offer.

Quote
For sale is a rare, one-of-a-kind keyboard:  a faux IBM Model M Industrial Space Saving keyboard!  It is a standard IBM Model M Space Saving keyboard, but I painted it gray to be just like the super rare Industrial Space Saver keyboard.  Just like the real thing.  Plus it has white on black keycaps.  ONE-OF-A-KIND!!!

Along with my expert paint job, I cleaned every component and did  bolt modification to prolong the life of this keyboard.  No need to worry about broken plastic rivets on this keyboard.

I would describe this as good as new, but in reality, this keyboard is better than new!  With a new paint job, thorough cleaning, bolt modification, and rare keycaps, you could not find this combination in any out-of-the-box keyboard on the market today.

Do not miss this rare opportunity to own a piece of history.  The real IBM Industrial keyboard usually sell for over $1000, but you could get yourself a deal here.  Send you best offers today for this faux IBM Model M Industrial SSK!

Please feel free to ask if you have questions about this listing.

Thanks for the plug.  Do not miss this great deal!

The vendor has to improve his painting skill  :))

That's why I did not even attempt to paint my Kishsaver.  I know that I would screw it up.

He should be beaten for doing that to an SSK case, but at least he is completely honest in his description.

I'll be waiting for you with Kishsaver in one hand and a Model F 122 in the other.

Also, just a 4704-200 and 122? please.

Mostly. He would obviously take the money and run if someone paid $2,000.

That is the worst paint job ever.  I thought I've painted some stuff that looked bad, but that's pretty bad.

lol one of a kind. A nasty ass paint job might make it one of a kind, doesn't mean someone wants to buy it.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

The paint job isn’t *that* bad. On the other hand, the lighting in the photo is terrible.

Yeah, he should just paint over the logo entirely. Even if the edge were straight, the color mismatch doesn’t look great.

I'm guessing Home Depot had a sale on paint rollers.

And not so long ago on Geekhack someone was selling an SSK with black M13 keys, like this one.  The price was reduced because it didn't have the original keys.  (NB the black M13 keys are one-piece.)

HEY they're only jealous because they never bothered to paint and ask $2000USD for their Model M's  :p .

Just do it again in the future BECAUSE you never know when you'll get that special someone willing to part with that amount of moolah for your 'unique' ssk  :thumb: .
