Lot of 7 TG3 keyboards $60 shipped
« on: Fri, 15 August 2014, 08:47:39 »
I don't know why you'd want 7, but a good deal on these is usually $20-25 shipped for one.  These look to be in fantastic shape for 7, making each board $7.50.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TG3-Electronics-BL82-Series-82-key-LED-Backlit-Keyboard-with-touchpad-lot-of-7-/291218537703?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item43cdfa3ce7

They are typically MX Blacks, but some models will have Clears.

The pic shows a serial port for the connectors if that matters to anyone.

Also do these usually say motorola on them??

Tempted to buy these and sell the switches.

They don't usually say Motorola on them, not that I've seen.

And if someone is short of cash and willing to do a little work, they're definitely worth it for the switches, caps, and stabilizers.  That's, what, 574 switches between the boards?  Sell them at $0.25 a pop, more for the Greys on the space bars, and you're more than doubled your investment and you haven't even sold the caps and stabilizers yet.  Say you get $5 a set of caps for another $35 total.  Then, depending on what stabs these have (I believe it's Cherry), you can make probably another couple of bucks on each board.

Definitely worth it just for parts.

Assuming these aren't some old custom rubberdome job  :))

And it isn't clear they are all the model pictured either since the box seems to be for two different models.

The title says BL82 but the pic is of the KBA-BLT

Yeah, I doubt that.  It's the right model number and TG3 still advertises those as 5 million actuation switches with gold crosspoints.

Are these the boards with splashguards? Or is that the other TG3 board that doesn't have the trackpad?

You want a splashguard? I think I've got one.

I think all TG3 BLT and BL-82 models have the splashguard, but I can't say with certainty.

Hm ok. I've been in the hunt for the non-mousepad version with a splashguard. I'm always forgetting which model is which...apparently it's the BL-82?

Wasn't me, but somebody bit on it. Oh well I didn't really want to desolder 7 of those anyway :p

Hopefully someone with an 808 or similar.  :))

If he does he knows what to do with them per my PM  :o

In all seriousness though I'm fairly certain I've got at least ~100 brand new clears I bought but just can't find them   :'(

TG3-BL82 with 4 lights on the spacebar and clear switches did not come with one to my knowledge anyways.

These should be black switches with splash guard.

I didn't think about this when I bought the lot, but many of those keycaps will work great with the JD40.

Kinda happy right about now. :D

Um....new plans for my JD40:

1) Buy TG3 from jdcarpe via begging and absurd offers.
2) Install splash guard and blacks into jd40
3) Win at keyboards

They do fit nice on a jD  :)) and you can desolder the switches.

I thought you got a splash guard already. I just found my "other" spare one.

Anyway I can say this is the lowest price I've seen on these since ivan posted those $10 shipped ones in the main keyboards forum a year or two back.

Not sure about that grey case though.
