Anyone who missed out is more than welcome to send me gifts.  After all, this is all about giving, right?  :3

Not part of secret santa this year but I'm down to send out a few gifts. Maybe to someone with a smaller collection but we'll see what I come up with.  :p
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

Haha I was obviously joking.  :P  I don't need more keyboard things.

If you're feeling generous though, you should definitely send something out to someone.  ^-^

The only thing standing between me and shipping out my SS gift, is the correct size box. I have an appointment with Staples to fix that. I am proud of myself for not procrastinating to the last few days.

Got one last thing coming in the post for my Santa, but I realised I packed up a couple of the things I wanted to send, so it may be a while before my last package gets sent out :(
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Just bought a bunch of gift stuff! Gotta order a few things online and I'll be ready to mail next week! Odds are I'll try to get creative in the upcoming weeks instead of sending it all bland though!

I hope my santa likes disappointment because I have a big box of it ready for them.

Also, remember to give me your shipping information as you ship your packages.  I need to be able to verify that people are sharing some sweet sweet loving.

When is the due date for shipping?

Been super busy with school and my giftee didn't put much in the way of what he/she wanted so I'm still brainstorming in my free time. I get free one day shipping so hopefully it's not a problem if I don't ship until mid December =S

The shipping 2 weeks before Christmas was outlined in the signup, if I'm not mistaken. I can understand that it can be tough if the person didn't explicitly say what they want, but being surprised is part of the fun. Don't over think it, if you don't know what they like, and their posts don't help, then give them something you like and explain why it is significant to you.

Or just get something like a switch Keychain and some candy/local snacks. We all like keyboards and junk food.  :)

I wouldn't plan on waiting to the last minute tho. You never know what could come up that may have you preoccupied by then.

Local candy is like a requirement.

Location PA/NY, that sounds like it's near the birthplace of buffalo wings.

I'll just say, if I receive a box full of buffalo wings for secret Santa I would not be upset.

LOL I didn't really think it through but you're right. The bottom of the box all soaked with grease spots, you open it up and there's just this layer of congealed chicken fat on the top, and they're all nasty and cold and taste like cardboard.

As a postal clerk I too would not recommend it. Also consider that they probably won't open it until the 24th/25th

However vacuum sealed wings could work.

Well considering that the original buffalo wing sauce is just Frank's Red Hot and butter, there's probably no reason to ship it. Just make it at home.

Fortunately for whoever my recipient may be, here in Central Texas there are plenty of nonperishable, durable, dry goods that are perfect for mailing. Many things with pecans, for example. Or jerky. Or Mexican candies.

To whoever gets my box: can you at least pretend to be surprised when you see it, having read this? :-P

What is hipster candy? Kale lollipops or something?

I think most people have forgotten what 'hipster' actually means, and now use it to describe anything "trendy", which is literally the opposite of what hipster actually is.  :P

I'm not sure what hipster candy would be either though.

"Hipster Candy" is extremely over-priced candy made by the hipsters that live in East-Nashville AKA HipsterVille. Do you want FOUR chocolate covered marshmallows? That'll be $9. Want 10 caramels (think 1" x 1" cubes)? That'll be $11. Want a pint of ice-cream? That'll be $24. Want to know where this is all sold? The place where 2 bedroom houses used to be $60k, now the same houses are $300k+

Yep. Turns out you can prove it. See: "The hipster effect: When anticonformists all look the same" by Jonathan Touboul. http://arxiv.org/pdf/1410.8001v1.pdf

A nice discussion on the topic is here: http://mic.com/articles/103172/the-scientific-reason-all-hipsters-look-the-same.

To not do something because everyone is doing it, is exactly the same thing as to do something simply because everyone is doing it. You're still allowing others to dictate your dress, behavior, interests, and even your aesthetic.

I always come back to the words of A.A. Milne:

Got a mystery package today from Italy, doesn't say Santa but I am not expecting something from there. Will be holding onto it while I wait for confirmation that it is indeed from my Shanto Clause :D Going to be so hard to not open it for a month!

EDIT-Realized what it is, indeed not my SS gift, hehe

According to USPS tracking, my gift has arrived at my giftee's address. Wonder if they're going to open it early.
