Keyboard Suggestion

So Ive been using this old LiteOn board with complicated white alps and Ive found that the typing experience has yet to be beat by anything else I have tried. I am looking to get something new and more customize-able and want to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what switch might be comparable.

Ill probably want something cherry I assume too since the caps are so readily available compared to the others.

Mx green would probably be the closest, both heavy and clicky

Customize-able how?  You want to change the function of the keys?  Or you just want to change color of the the keycaps?  Also do you want a Cherry brand keyboard?  Or are you looking for any keyboard with Cherry switches?  I ask these questions, to raise your consciousness.  But if you want heavy and clicky, the only real choices are Cherry MX Green switches, and/or maybe a vintage IBM buckling-spring keyboard.  I can't remember the actuation force on a BS switch, but it's a lot.  Also they make an audible report that cannot be missed.  You can feel it in your fingers in fact, IIRC.

You will have trouble improving on complicated white Alps unless you are desperate for something lighter.

If the tactile click is not satisfying enough, then buckling springs can't be beat.

Blue switch provides very good typing feel if you can stand the sound.

No MX switch will match the tactility of clicky alps. Like fohat said, buckling spring might be a good choice.

Topre could be interesting because it's a completely different feel, but customization is lacking.

It was really disappointing for me to type on MX Blues after typing on some nice and clicky Alps (even if it's just white Alps).

I would say get a buckling spring board, possibly a Model F, but those are not really customizable. If you want to go Cherry, at least go MX Greens.
