When I say compact I'm talking Poker 2 size.

I need a number pad as well...for number input, PC game trainers, etc...but don't want a separate number pad though. Want some Fn number pad.

Customizable RGB LED's is a plus...or at least white ones. MX Blues required.

I used to have a Poker 2 and loved it...just the lack of a number pad kind of ruined it for me.

Anything I can find for this?

No 60% that I know of that has an FN layer numpad, your best bet would just be an external numpad

Your best bet would be to go up to an 84 key. The KC84s had arrow keys, nav keys and a Fn layer numpad.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

This, or something like it.  Plum96 maybe.

Oh, and Kailh switches aren't bad, before anybody points it out. :)

While there haven't been any real tests on longevity since they haven't been out for very long, yeah the quality and feel so far has been pretty comparable to cherry MX

Poker 2. You can program the keys of your choice to do the digits (or any character) when they are pressed together with Fn.

You owned one. Did you know about its programmability?

Uhhhhh...no? I've never heard of that. Is that software or hardware?

Honestly didn't think this would be so hard. Saw someone saying "unfortunately it has a embedded numpad" when talking about the KC84...as if that's a bad thing?

Are embedded numpads frowned upon or something? I would have thought they'd be more wanted than this. Why would you NOT want a numpad of some kind?

Hardware. You can easily program the keyboard, then your keys assignment are stored inside the keyboard itself. If you plug the keyboard into another computer, the settings are still there.

Well next time it may be good idea to read the user's manual...

I bought it used and it didn't come with one. That and like 99% of keyboards out there aren't programmable so why would I have even thought to look that up?

:D

The Poker II is a really flexible and interesting board. The only limitation is that you don't have a lot of options for position of the Pn and Fn keys and you can't program an arrow cluster to the right modifiers. Other than that you can do almost anything.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

If you loved it, you are kind of lucky: you have already tested it! :)

Just purchase another one... I think there is a Massdrop on the Poker 2 at this time.

You can turn the Caps Lock key into an Fn key (this is done with one of the DIP switches under the keyboard), then program the keyboard to do the digits with Fn + 789UIOJKLM for example.

That would be exactly the keyboard you asked for in your original post.

This would, however, interfere with the default Fn layout, and especially with the F7, F8 and F9 keys. But you could remap them somewhere else. Or you could map the digits so they do not interfere with F7, F8 and F9: for example put the digits on YUIHJKNM,. Put stickers on the front sides of the keycaps to remember where the digits are.

Maybe this post would help you:
  https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=57723.0

It shows a layout that I have designed and that can be used on the Poker 2. The part that would be of interest for you is the part where I explain how to program the Poker 2.

I suggest you use Caps Lock as an Fn key, because the location of the default Fn key would not be ideal for typing digits, unless you are left handed.

Another one to consider is the Infinity 60 keyboard. The first group buy on Massdrop is over, but there are more than enough votes already for a round two. This keyboard is completely programmable.

If you were willing to move up to a TKL, there are some of these that have built-in embedded numeric keypads. I have two of such keyboards. One is the IBM SSK, which is a vintage board and rather expensive through sources such as eBay. Another is the RF 87u. I am typing on one now -- the RF 87ub 55g. It is a great keyboard with Topre switches.
