Poker 2. You can program the keys of your choice to do the digits (or any character) when they are pressed together with Fn.
You owned one. Did you know about its programmability?
Uhhhhh...no? I've never heard of that. Is that software or hardware?
Hardware. You can easily program the keyboard, then your keys assignment are stored inside the keyboard itself. If you plug the keyboard into another computer, the settings are still there.
Good to know.
Well next time it may be good idea to read the user's manual...
I bought it used and it didn't come with one. That and like 99% of keyboards out there aren't programmable so why would I have even thought to look that up?
If you loved it, you are kind of lucky: you have already tested it!
Just purchase another one... I think there is a Massdrop on the Poker 2 at this time.
You can turn the Caps Lock key into an Fn key (this is done with one of the DIP switches under the keyboard), then program the keyboard to do the digits with Fn + 789UIOJKLM for example.
That would be exactly the keyboard you asked for in your original post.
This would, however, interfere with the default Fn layout, and especially with the F7, F8 and F9 keys. But you could remap them somewhere else. Or you could map the digits so they do not interfere with F7, F8 and F9: for example put the digits on YUIHJKNM,. Put stickers on the front sides of the keycaps to remember where the digits are.
Maybe this post would help you:
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=57723.0It shows a layout that I have designed and that can be used on the Poker 2. The part that would be of interest for you is the part where I explain how to program the Poker 2.
I suggest you use Caps Lock as an Fn key, because the location of the default Fn key would not be ideal for typing digits, unless you are left handed.
