I started as an usher for the company that ran the 3 main concert venues in Saint Louis back when I was 16 (1996).. most fun job I got paid the least amount of money to do.  Got to see a lot of awesome stuff, and met some interesting people ;)    Plus we always got to pocket a bunch of the confiscated stuff at the end of the night

Technically, my first concert was John Mayer, but I really just went to that because my friend had an extra ticket and invited me. The first concert I really wanted to go to was Arsis, which was insane

The worst was probably seeing Yeasayer live in Seattle.  I love them on album...but they suck in person.

Were they just having a bad night?  I saw them live last summer and it was awesome.  We may have different preferences in live performances, of course.

That sounds amazing! I love the Beastie Boys. Unfortunately never made the efforts to see them live, which is no longer possible, and now I'm kind of sad.

Mine was NIN and David Bowie for the Outside Tour, 18 October 1995. Notable highlight for me was Trent and David duet Hurt.

Favorite concert still is pretty close between Amon Amarth that I saw recently or Ministry during the Sphinctour in 96. That show was incredible. Opening acts were N17 and L7.

First concert was Chris Rea I think, my mom and dad took us along, was just as he was starting his bluesy stuff, actually pretty good (his bass players is so damn cool).

Favourite gig was Gojira in 2012 with Klone at the Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton.

I would really love to see Ihsahn live, I missed Emperors 20th anniversary concert this year at Bloodstock.

the prodigy at the red square '97.

and it was free.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Primus @ Cox arena circa 1991.  Awesome show.

Favorite show is probably Lets go Bowling @ Showcase in 1996:  encored a cover of Op. Ivy "sound system", or Crystal Method in 2009.

Yeah, post the cool performers. The rock bands, the techno musicians ...

My first concert was a Swedish singer: Carola Häggqvist. She had just won the local Eurovision Song Contest and had quickly become my big idol. I was seven y/o.
