Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

I will never understand the appeal of a gaming laptop. It sounds like a nightmare.

My Asus G53 was a nightmare. Can't easily clean the internals so dust would get clogged around the GPU and CPU. The laptop was so heavy it often wasn't worth bringing.

It was more expensive than if I had grabbed a desktop + cheapy laptop for school

Maybe someone could pick this up to harvest the switches and then toss the rest into the trash.
Good plan.

Product purchased for work, lightly used for 40 days.  Unfortunately, this is too large of a laptop for me to take while traveling.

I think he may be onto something here...
Currently GMMK Pro: lubed 68g U4T, FR4 plate, extra gaskets, etc

"This listing has ended" - lol did no-one buy it?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

"purschased for work"

"for work"

Seriously, name one job that would require a laptop of that size and specs!

This. However, put Linux on it and basically converted it to a media center desktop, the hardware is decent. But the dust clogging is a definite issue, every few minutes the fan enters take off mode as it struggles to clear out the dust.
