Hit spy. Read.

Sometimes hit read posts. Sometimes hit Making Stuff Together. 90% spy though. If I miss it? Oh well. Maybe I'll hit Unread but not often.

I sometimes use Spy, but I feel that I get the best GH experience by browsing "Watched" to see if there are any updates to the threads that interest me, and "Unread" if I've got time to check out some new stuff.

Regarding the thread, I browse using Watched, I tag the thread I'm interested in with Watch to follow them, rest is done through unread. Very rarely spy or per subforum.

You two pretty much use GH the same way I do. Do you ever find that you're late to the party on some things though? It's happened to me a few times which is why I was wondering how other people do it.

Am I on here often enough not to miss a lot.

One other thing I do, is after I have read my watched, I go to classifieds and new members and mark both of them as read as it's thread I don't want to see in my unread.

For a while I tried the reverse of this by subscribing to notifications on all the forums I wanted to follow. I disabled email notifications. Then I could just go to the Notifications tab and see all the forums with unread posts. The problem was, the notification went away as soon as I viewed the forum list page, even if I hadn't read anything yet. So that was kind of a bust. Your solution seems like it might work better.

I browse the forum almost exclusively using Spy+Watched. The first thing I do is empty my Watched queue and then I hog the Spy tab for interesting threads I can mark for watching.

Mobile:

I mainly use it for notifications. I hate that it tracks every external link, uploads images on their servers, and inserts it's own crappy smilies.

I got tired of Tapatalk for a while and was browsing GH on my PC exclusively. Then after about a week, Tapatalk sent an Android notification reminding me to use their app. Sorry, but for me that kind of junk is an instant uninstall. So I guess I'm done with Tapatalk.

I usually click on a thread, skip any post over a paragraph long, then proceed to post a useless comment.

I open All Unread Topics, hit the Mark All Messages as Read button, then hit the little X in the top right.

Dang, thats sick, I gotta try that.
