Yeah to be completely honest, I have noticed this myself. I feel that a lot of lurkers and newbies are probably put off, when they see irrelevant posts and circle jerking between a small group of people. Personally, I feel it derail threads, and never really feel like posting after reading it, cause I'd feel rude interrupting the circle jerk

Maybe blocking would solve things, but it really wouldn't, cause all the lurkers and newbies will still be affected by all the rampant, irrelevant, thread-crapping circle jerking.

I sometimes use Spy, but I feel that I get the best GH experience by browsing "Watched" to see if there are any updates to the threads that interest me, and "Unread" if I've got time to check out some new stuff.

so report it. mods are good with deleting irrelevant posts. we have these tools for a reason.  it's not that hard. and it's easier than complaining.
