Looking to buy a second keyboard
« on: Sat, 03 October 2015, 20:18:32 »
Hey guys,

Been using a filco majestouch (brown switch) since 2010 but haven't really looked into getting a second keyboard until now. I've been recently looking at keyboards that don't have a space between the number keys and the f keys. Looks like this: http://www.amazon.ca/Noppoo-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Switches/dp/B0091QOCNA

I've been having a difficult time finding keyboards that have this feature as I don't really know what the layout is called (have to check pictures of each keyboard, manually). Anyone happen to know what type of keyboard this is?

Thanks

It doesn't really have a name, but maybe the keyword "compact" would be helpful for your search.

Do you want the numpad as well?

A lot of 75% boards have the F keys next to the numbers. Otherwise, I don't think there is a name for it, its not very standard to have them close together really, and you will probably have to just look at the pictures if you don't go 75%
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned that I am not looking for a numpad.

Unfortunately, it  seems as though a lot of tenkeyless (which im guessing is the 75%?) has the space between the numbers and f keys.

A Tenkeyless is actually an 87%. This is a 75:

Looks like the 75 configuration is exactly what I am looking for, thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you know if this company's keyboards are on par with the build quality of filco?

As of right now, nothing have been said about the build quality of the keyboard.  You can check out this thread https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=74857.0 for more info but it seems that since the keyboard haven't been released yet, they're still keeping quiet on the manufacture.
