Damn that was quick. Great work bunny. I can't wait to get my sets? Have you put them on a board? How stable are the mods? Sorry about your back. Seems like it was a tedious task.

I was gonna build up.some boards today but really don't have the focus for it right now, so right now I'm making some little labels for the packaging so I can still be productive, most likely tomorrow night I'll have on board pictures but it's possibly Tuesday, basically I have the kid till about 6 tomorrow, then I'll sort the green sets so they are all finished, then build up the board, and either take pics that night or the next day

Wow Bunny, these look amazing. I'm wondering about the real-life color of the green ones- are they a brighter electric shade or more of a forest green?

Zero wobble, there is no side to side play on the sliders, just moves directly up and down and has zero confliction with the board

So they'd be a bit taller than the novatouch sliders so that's why caps don't hit the board. Nice. I'm excited to get my sets soon.

Hey bunny, I've asked this a couple of times and wondering if I can catch your attention while you're here:

I'm wondering how bright the green is (I ordered orange and blue but I have a suspicion the green is sexy)
Some of the pics look quite dark, like an olive or forest color, but the latest pics of the pink sliders on that hhkb make me think the true life colors might be quite a bit brighter.

Any way you can do a brighter shot of the colors next to each other, or just give me your opinion on the shade of green? I thought it looked pretty electric in the image on the order page a week ago.

Super pumped for these!!

Sorry I've missed you before

I'm about to go to bed but I'll do better pics of all colours tomorrow

With the green in particular there is a good picture on the ctrlalt Instagram

What i will say is these colours all seem rather light reactive, in well lit conditions they all pop consoderably more than in low light, I know that sounds obvious I guess what I mean to say is I find the colour variance between high and low light to be more than I would ordinarily expect

the last few hours of my life have been miserable

this will be a long update addressing a couple of things, some good news and some not

first of all

all the final keysets are ready and on hand with JTK, i am told i will have full pictures tomorrow and that everything is looking great

that was the good news

now for the bad

i discovered a small issue with the sliders today that doesnt affect functionality

i should have discovered this earlier, however i was so keen to get my head down and sort first it was only last night i finally put sliders on a board, when i did that i put a few keys on to test the various types of sliders and was overwhelmingly happy with the finished results, and then i went to bed as it was late

this afternoon i finally got round to capping up a board, and to take some glory shots, when i noticed that some of the 1u sliders looked a bit off, upon further investigation the majority of them were essentially turned about 1 degree anti clockwise, it is marginal, and because it is so marginal it doesnt affect any functionality, not one key interferes with any other one to give you an idea of just how small the error is, but it is still an error, and one that if you were to spend all day every day in front of your keyboard, im sure would drive you mad like it would me

i have spent the last 3 hours in discussion with jtk, going over each colour on various different boards and testing numerous sliders and neither of us feel this is acceptable

the action we have decided to take is to redo the moulds and model, and rerun all the sliders again so they are perfect

what i have spent my last 2 nights doing for about 8 hours a night is packing orders, and im about 2 thirds of the way through, so in the light of the new info i have a couple of options for everyone

these current sliders dont need to be sent back or anything, they are all sorted and ready to go, they are perfectly functional in the sense they will not have a negative affect on typing, it is purely an aesthetic annoyance, for anyone who would like a set of these i am happy to ship them, and you will then still receive the new fixed set as soon as they arrive for just the cost of shipping

secondly anyone who doesnt want the faulty sliders, you dont have to do anything, you will receive the new fixed set as soon as i have them

if anyone would like both the faulty set and the new set but doesnt want to pay the second shipping, i am happy to hold on to the faulty set and send it along with the new set as soon as they arrive at no extra cost to the shipping you have paid

i know this is incredibly disappointing, i assure you i am more frustrated than anyone, but i am also very grateful jtk has stepped up to the issue and it is being taken care of

due to time differences, its very late there, indeed when i stopped speaking to him it was about 3am, he will be speaking to the factory tomorrow and then i will have a timeline of how long the fixes and rerun will take, but both myself and jtk are under the impression it would be an incredibly quick turnaround, as soon as i find out more info tomorrow i will post here

as the timing of when the new ones will be ready may affect some of the choices above and how people want to move forward, please do not contact me yet, when i have the details tomorrow i will make a form for people to fill out and we can take it from there, as i have most orders packed up already i will be able to ship right away anyway to anyone who wants these sets

im terribly sorry for any disappointment or frustration this causes, i will put a board back together now and post a picture of the issue shortly

thanks

(sad bunny)

this is a picture of the issue, its difficult to capture well but if you look at the gap between K and L you c an see the slight tilt

essentially what we need to do is remodel the middle stem 1 degree clockwise

I paid for 4 sets of sliders, one jtk sophomore set, and shipping. Would I need to pay for additional shipping or would it be possible to bundle the new sliders with the keycap set as I'm assuming that they'd both be ready in relatively close proximity. Thanks bunny for your hard work. It takes a lot of go through this much trouble for such a small issue.

i would imagine that is fine, however id rather know the exact date tomorrow before giving you a definitive answer

and yes whilst it is a small issue, it very much is an issue, and one i had to take seriously

i was heartbroken when i spotted it, and once you see it, there is no unseeing it, i couldnt in good conciounse send them out like that without addressing it

Understandable. If the timeline is by the end of the year or early next year, I'd be OK with having them all held onto and bundled to save a bit on shipping. I'm not sure how much I paid in terms of shipping but any money I can save you is money that can go towards the old gbs. Are you going to have another form for whether we want the old sliders or would we just have to pm you?
