[GB] Smoked Italian Cheese blend, Orders CLOSED

Alright guys, it is here.  I am doing a group buy for my smoke Italian cheese blend.  The three cheeses are parmesan, reggiano, and romano.  I don't make the cheese, I buy it from the store and put it in the smoker for ~1 hour.  There will be limited quantities, but I don't know yet how many as it depends on how it ends up grating.

Each portion will be ~1/3 ~1/2 cup by volume. 

Base shipping will be 3 day priority flat rate box, I believe this price starts at $5.95.  If you want overnight shipping that will cost $20.  All shipping will be via USPS.

I do have to apologize, I will NOT be doing international shipping for this.  I am sorry, but the quickest shipping to Canada is 3-5 days and the cost for a single portion shipped this method is $38.  While this cheese is very low moisture, has a very long shelf life, and the smoking process adds to this, I don't feel that comfortably doing this.  If you still want smoked cheese, I do have a meat and cheese smoking guide if you want to try it yourself.

Price per portion is $5, I can combine orders to save on shipping, and I am sure I can fit multiple portions in one box.  I currently have 7 portions in my freezer, I will see how many of these I can mash into one of these boxes. 

Google Doc for an order form will be getting made shortly.  I have the cheese on hand, and will be smoking it tonight.  Pics tonight during the process and I hope to ship out early next week.  This is round 1, more rounds may follow this winter.  This will not be available during the summer as the heat prohibits the process.

Edit:  I didn't realize today was Thursday and not Friday.  These are getting smoked tomorrow night.

Order form is CLOSED

I will be leaving the order form up until Wednesday 20Jan2016.  Invoices will start going out tomorrow night after I get these smoked, grated, and mixed.  If I don't have enough to satisfy all the orders, I will get more cheese and keep up with this until I can satisfy all orders.  These will mail out probably the Monday 25Jan2016, so please get invoices paid quick.  The reason for the Monday shipping is because I don't want these sitting in a warehouse all day Sunday.

Thanks again.  Each order brings me that much closer to me purchasing my mill and moving on to much more ambitious endeavors.

One thing to add, subsequent rounds will be conducted in the Artisan thread due to this being more of a hand crafted artisan item than a group buy where I collect money and buy stuff in bulk.

take out is a good idea.. I also work at a pizza place so that could go well. if you put it on pizza what would be the easiest way to heat up the cheese if at all.

take out is a good idea.. I also work at a pizza place so that could go well. if you put it on pizza what would be the easiest way to heat up the cheese if at all.

In my experience, the later in the process you add a particular seasoning or spice, the more pronounced it is.  On pizza, I have added it both before and after cooking, both are just as good on frozen and take out pizza.

I'm a big fan of smoked cheese in macaroni and cheese, and I usually put some pancetta, bread crumbs and parmesan on top of it before it goes in the oven. I would think that would be a great use for this (and what I plan on using it for)

Mac n Cheese is pretty much always good, but obviously this will make it that much better.

I was on IRC one day talking about switches and handwiring boards...

This Melvang character out of the blue suggested I look at keyboard enablers (for stabilizer supports).
I looked into them and was interested - I didn't know he was involved with their design (just figured he was a happy builder).  Expressed that I would buy a couple to give them a try.

Fast forward a couple of days and I receive a gift package from him with a bunch of enablers (more than I needed) - wow. 

There was an extra gift - a bag of the really tasty smoked cheese (which once opened, quickly got gobbled up).  The cheese was excellent - and I'm not a big fan of stinky cheese (this was smokey - not stinky).

PM me, I want more.

Think of this finished product as the pile of sprues and interconnects from the molding process.
