This is the PCB layout, you can check the positions of the screws with it:

There is post about fitting nerd60 to tex aluminium case, like this one
https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/3780ny/my_custom_nerd_60_is_finally_complete/

But there is also post about fitting nerd60 to tex acrylic case with some modification
http://imgur.com/a/Ruozq

It seems that if you have side led soldered on nerd60 pcb, the pcb will not fit into the case, otherwise it is fine.

Definitely in this one! Ordered a black PCB and a purple plate. Can't wait to have some fun with all the LEDs. Gonna be picking up the BT mod as well to try it out. Thanks for putting on this group buy  ;D

We have reached over 50% MOQ.

It has only been three days so this currently looks good.

Please share this with people that need a 60% keyboard.

All I ask is everyone use Zealios and SMD LEDs for this board to look EXTRA AWESOME. Because with normal LEDs, I think you're just stuck at AWESOME. ;)

MD recently offered Gateron switches that are designed for SMD switch LEDs, I am not sure what they are though.

Of course there aren't as switches can't accommodate SMD LEDs. I was wrong.

Right, you can install in-switch LEDs, and also SMD LEDs on the back of the PCB.

These PCBs have had top SMD compatibility for quite some time, since Gon released version 2.0. The SMD spots on top aren't placed where it would be necessary to have the special switches.

That is interesting, do they use the same resistors that the in-switch Leds?

Haha, I think you and I discussed this a few days ago. I know Gon's site recommends using different resistors for in-switch vs. SMD (which is why the pre-soldered resistors are different for side vs. top) but I'm not sure it makes a huge difference. I'll be putting SMDs on the top and bottom. I guess we'll see what happens.

So the silver color plates are painted, ya? Do we have any pics? I hope its a bit darker than the bare metal plate, if it looks greyish that would be just perfect.. Just ordered a titanium grey case from taobao. Gonna use the nantucket selectric set.

Silver is silver. At least the plate from round 3 is a quite light silver. I think a non colored plate would work better (if available).

You guys think the steel plate would match this case better than the silver? I guess it's kinda a pointless question cause I've been leaning toward winkeyless plate anyway, but just wondering.

The steel plate isn't shiny. There's some production burn marks on the bottom of it too (not major, but I wanted to let you know about them).

Is there a specific look you're going for? The aluminum in grey might be a better choice for you.

Oh, and for SMD LEDs, the pads are not under switches at all--don't worry about special switches. Frosty or clear (Zealio) Gateron is fine. The LEDs used can also be paired with in-switch LEDs (the effect will kind of be lost unless your goal was just a gigantic spotlight on your desk, lol). The caveat with the parallel LEDs is that you have to be weary of voltage drop (try to use the same color or colors which fall into the same voltage drop range). It'll be experimental. :)

A last note is to get some heat shrink (thin) so that you can mount the indicator LED (I recommend a 2x3x4mm) underneath the plate or at least toward the side of the top of the plate. The indicator LED has independent posts and is configurable (as desired) via the NerDy GUI.

Well I am picking up a winkeyless plate and a universal plate just for versatility, and I figure I can always sell one later if I don't use it, but I'm really leaning toward using that winkeyless plate. Obviously my only choices in the gb for wkl plate color is black, silver, or orange. You can see my case above, it doesn't have the tabs that come up to cover the black winkey spaces, so I'm wondering how awkward this is going to look with a shiny silver plate.

Otherwise that, didn't have a super specific look in mind. Not bothering with LEDs. It is my first keyboard build though, so I guess I have a bit of a problem envisioning how all this will look in the end with the pieces I am gathering here.

My advice is to consider what the winkeyless will look like given you have a lip (even slightly) on the case. The other option is to use a Duck Blocker (if you can source some) or a switch blocker from Signature Plastics. I think 60% is enough reduction compared to a larger board so I fill out my keys. I just never do ISO because ewww. ;)

I just never do ISO because ewww. ;)

Hmm ok, thanks for the tips. Blockers would bug me, and I don't think I'd mind a small lip. I've never used a winkeyless or a 60% before, but I really just don't see myself using those keys that I'd be missing, and I kind of dig the retro look. I can't stand ISO either. But this is definitely why I'm getting a universal plate as well. It's cheap enough to be there if I don't dig the winkeyless.

It is a lot of work for desoldering, so just make sure you decide on it before doing it. Mounting everything up should be sufficient for a test. PM me if you have any questions, I always love to help new people with their customs!

I have something to ask about colours of the plates.

So this is silver ? (from r1 GB):

and this is steel ? (Only Universal plate as I understood):

And I have made a mistake when taking 2 pack of 6.25 instead of 1 of 6.25 and 1 of 7, I will PM you just before the end, because I'm still undecided.

Made a little ad campaign on reddit.

Should help to get some newbies in. If you want to upvote for visibility, I would really appericate that since I am being downvoted to oblivion and back.

Ha, let me know if you still need me.

People seem to enjoy your GB too, and i would have been in, if it hadn't been for running this GB.
