Aside from this, the weight insert looks quite nice, my main reservation is with how tall the case looks, can you share the inclination angle of the case or is this too early and not fully nailed down yet? What's the height from the table surface to the top of the front lip?

Hello, this is just an early draft. Most of the things you talk about can't be seen if you'd had seen it the other ways around.

The point of this case is to be different, it's not going to be a sample  60% case.

EDIT:
Some clarifications.
The forward lip is not that high, I will get some measurements.

The bevels are sharp, but won't cut you :P

The angle is inwards, and does look odd from that specific angle.

Hello, this is just an early draft. Most of the things you talk about can't be seen if you'd had seen it the other ways around.

The point of this case is to be different, it's not going to be a sample  60% case.

Why isn't the weight on the outer side? At least it can be seen with PCB mounted. Secondly, isn't that USB cutout too wide?

It's uniform. It's not finished at all though, just an early sample.

That's very nice! I thought it was a a fancy render for a moment! I still think the bevel makes the top lip a little bit too sharp, but obviously your case, your rules, personally I think making the bevel a little less agressive to leave about 1.5-2mm of straight lip wouldn't be too bad!

Other than that, everything else is fine and dandy

Hello!

Just some quick updates.

The aluminium, steel and carbon fibre are with me now. I need to order some more shipping material from Staples, but as you can see on the shipping sheet, I have already started shipping.


The first batch GON PCBs is sent, after a very good quality control. We are in the middle of the shipping rush, which seems to delay EMS.

I was about to post an update.

The shipment hasn't arrived yet, so GON are in contact with EMS, and I am in contact with the postal service here to locate, and get an estimate on when we can expect the shipment.

I will post any updates here.

EMS Korea tells us: that the shipment was last seen on a plane to Norway

The Norwegian Postal service(Norwegian EMS) tells us that the shipment has not reached Norway yet.


I have been to my local post office, and GON is working hard on the Korean side to track down the shipment as best as we can.

It is very crucial to me that we get this shipment.

Definitely could be that, but I have contacted the Norwegian Customs, and they never hold packages for more than 2 days, and they told me they did not have the package.

I think you're handling this as well as you could be asked to.
I guess this is the breaks of dealing in highly unique merchandise; sometimes shipments hiccup and we all get extremely nervous.
I've got lot of faith that it will resolve well and we'll all be getting a (bit late) holiday gift from Norway soon!

A similar thing happened the last time I got something shipped by EMS Korea (some Alps springs from Sprit), it stopped tracking from the airport onwards and took ages (like over a week) until it gets picked up again (apparently just waiting for customs clearance).

Hope this is nothing serious. I've resigned to the fact that due to all the holiday craziness, I'm unlikely to receive anything before New Years anyway (this goes for multiple GB not just this one)!

On a related note, have a Groovy Christmas for everyone who celebrates Christmas around here!
