Need help with a G80-1800 plate
« on: Sat, 31 March 2018, 04:21:46 »
I've been looking for a G80-1800 mounting plate, but the only one I could find that supports my layout is the 185x plate from this GH thread: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=42063.0.

I'd prefer to directly purchase the plate, but could also try to get it cut myself if I can get my hands on the CAD files. That might be a bit tough though, since both users who ran that GB seem to have been inactive for a while now.

What do?

You could design your own and have it laser cut somewhere. That seems to be the best option.
Have you already modded the case?

No I haven't done anything to the board other than some cleaning.

I could design my own, if I knew how. And this seems a rather intricate plate, so that option is very low on my list.

Designing a plate is not hard thanks to swill.
All you need is to design your layout in the KLE then import the raw data into swill's builder and download the design.

I assume your layout looks more or less like this.

I've seen that tool, but that only gets me halfway. There need to be a whole bunch of cuts and wholes on the plate to fit the 1800 case, as you can see in the link I posted above.

I'll still keep that in mind though.
