I don't know when you sleep!  Best of luck with all the packaging (and your upcoming trip).

From a recent GH podcast, I understand that MOZ gets about 4 hours sleep a day, around the middle of the day.
Wow you guys discuss my sleeping pattern on the podcast? Which one was this,  seems like I missed it.

Moz,

You are a celebrity!

We discuss your sleeping habits. Food you eat. Your butt wiping technique. ;)

Back on topic, so I got back from the vinyl/acrylic work shops, I have good news for some and bad news for others.

Good news is, the acrylic stuff is done, I'll post some pictures soon, while I pack the stuff and send out all the stuff tomorrow, including all the keychains.

Bad news is, the stickers were not done, the guy was stalling me, as he was confused with the vast variety of colors, and also he didn't estimate the time correctly for cutting the stickers, essentially, it is taking almost twice as long, which means about 50% increase in price. But more than the price, the problem is that he won't be able to deliver the stickers by tomorrow, and I leave on Sunday. He has promised me that he will get as much done tonight (As in he will go through the whole night), and I will try to get at least the couple of bulk orders I have sent out tomorrow. The rest will have to go out in February. It is what it is, I can't help it, since I have to fly out on Sunday, and I can't delay my flight anymore, I have already sacrificed the chance to meet and have dinner with the Indian International Cricket Team which is touring in South Africa (This is a big deal) and I am also bearing the extra costs of the sticker manufacturing as a way to compensate for the delays.

Sorry folks, however I can promise you this much, I am not a scamster, I will be active on the website throughout this waiting period doing other random stuff on the website and making more things, I will respond to every PM/email you send my way.

Thanks for understanding,
MOZ

Yes, those are done and I just mentioned in the keychain thread that I am packing right now. Only thing from the to do that will not be sent out are the switch stickers, which to be honest, is not really me fault as the manufacturer screwed up.

February, I'm sitting in SA now. I am trying to arrange for someone to pickup the packages from my place and take them to the post. But the thought of 200 packages scares everyone, specially when you can only register 4 products in one turn and then have to go back to the end of the queue at the post office (There are always at least 10 people in the queue)

Wow, that sounds horrible! They really won't pull an employee aside to crank through all 200 in one go?

200 would include the sticker orders?  Can probably just do the acrylic cases and keychains--those should be far fewer.  I thought stickers aren't ready anyway and would need to be inspected before shipping first.

That is just the keychains, some cases, TVS-E Golds, etc.

If I include the switch stickers, we reach around 280 packages.

@Glod, yeah, most likely a family member or a close friend, trust is a non-issue, as noone is interested in this stuff or care for it.

At 4 packages a time, you would only need to find 50 people, or even 25 who could go twice.  That number of people would know each other and could chat amiably whilst waiting in queue.

Also the number of people you introduce into the post office would lengthen the queues and put other people off, so your minions would be processed more quickly.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

UPDATE!

It is official, I hate the Indian postal system. I went to the post office to send the packages, the lady there asked me how many items I had, I told her about 200, she said, we don't have that many CN22 forms, so please take this form, please take this form and photocopy it. I asked her if I could get 10-15 forms, so that I can submit the large boxes (Acrylic cases, TVS-E Gold keyboards), she said, no. Now, I don't drive, so I have to walk around the postal office area looking for photocopy shops as well as stationary shops to buy tape to stick the forms.

Photocopy shops are a plenty in India, except, half of them have nonfunctional machines or there is a blackout in the area. I spent about 3-4 hours arranging photocopies of the form and tape. I then filled in a few forms and submitted the items, while I filled in more forms. I could only submit a few packages before it was end of day's work for the employees, yay! So I got only a few packages done, while I could have gotten through the whole thing, all because of the inability of the postal employees to stock on forms, and the incompetence of our government to provide electricity 24-hours.

However, lessons learnt, I now know, exactly what times the postal office operates, when to expect crowd and when not to. How to package and that I can photocopy the form and take it prefilled to the post office, this should theoretically help me send the remaining packages out quickly.

For the remaining packages, they will be sent out either Thursday (Not 100% as I have uni exams starting Monday) or the Thursday next week.

For those whose packages have been sent out, I will be PMing you the tracking details shortly.

Quick, everybody hate on Nubbinator!

He and his silly lathe, and fancy lacquers ....

Wait, wut?  :-[ Oh, right! My TVS-e is en route! Yay for being one of the special few!  :-*

Good luck Moz, on your exams on dealing with the silly gub'mint workers at the post office.

EDIT: Tuesday, March 11th. It's in the states. Wrong side of the country but in the states.
