2) Stock sliders with bke domes and hyperspheres. I had the light domes, and even they are tactile enough that you don't miss anything when using hyperspheres.. still plenty of tactility left. The snappy nature of the domes reduced the silencing capability of the hyperspheres tho, but it was still livable when lubed also. I did end up taking the domes out tho because of a major flaw in the domes shape. Bke domes crest at a lower point. Stock domes are more round. Stock domes compress springs by pressings on the very top of the spring with the underside of the apex of the dome. Bke domes due to the shape press on the side of the springs about 25% of the way down with the side of the dome. This leads to spring binding and grinding and an impossible to remove noise that drove me crazy. What's the point of trying to silence a board if every switch press grinds worse than the last?

I think you might want to try re-seating the springs in the domes. I had this happen in a few of my switches when I installed the BKE domes, and it's kind of a pain in the ass to get them all in perfectly, but I now have a board with no spring grinding.

I currently have type-s sliders swapped into my fc660c with BKE domes. I really like it, but I do wish it were quieter. When keyclack's R2 silencing rings launch, I'm planning to try experimenting with those on top of the type-s sliders, to see if I can find a balance between tactility and noise that I'm happy with.

I reset the domes 3 times.  I played with domes and springs externally on my desk as well for a long time.  Under no circumstance was I able to eliminate spring noise to my liking.  As soon as I went back to stock domes the sound was 100% gone.
The grey on your Koffing, holy moly is that ever a perfect match. Bought and excited!
Making Stuff Together! / Re: "Jailhouse" Blues - centralized discussion thread

Has anyone tried jailhousing MX clones other than gaterons or outemus?

I've been made aware of this Reddit thread, where people debate consistency of gaterons and someone claims that greetechs didn't work for them as they retained the click.

I'm mainly interested in current Kailh switches: Blue, Pro Aqua and Speed Gold.

I've only tried to put a JSpacer on a Speed Gold and something was off. Like, there was a weird wobble at the top, or something along those lines IIRC. I have no idea how consistent they are and that sort of thing, though.

What a disaster.  This keyboard is a piece of ****.  Bootmapper goes into an infinite reboot loop every time I try to flash a keymap and I'm pretty sure I have an entire column not connected.  Whoever did QA on these boards should be shot.  TARO is ****ing worthless and nobody associated with this GB should ever be allowed near a keyboard again.

At first I didnít know about a macos version of bootmapper (I only run on macos). So I created a virtual machine with windows 10, and it failed very hard to flash anything on the keyboard. But then I discovered the native macos version of bootmapper and it work like a charm. So I donít know which setup you used, but maybe it can be a source of issue if you use a virtual machine.

I did not face any other issue while flashing, all my keys are working, strange issue that some have :/

Presumably its with the initial soldering of the board. People, including me, with row/column problems can't do anything software wise to fix the problems. I'm pretty much unable to mess with smd components so i'll need to go to some shop to get mine repaired. Quite annoying, to be honest, but better than a **** looking board with a perfectly working pcb.
Z Frontier is supposed to be a pretty legit vendor, right? I made sure to look around and read up on them prior to this buy starting. Maybe I'm just worried cause I had an indiegogo project go south on me recently, but I'm feeling uneasy here, too.

Im just a new one in the AEK neighborhood  ;D

Related to the ISO layout, is it possible to modify the keys? I've the layout almost done but as I use the Spanish layout, a few keys are different. I used the TMK Keymap editor, but I'm missing few as — or the symbols "><".

I guess I should use a hex editor so it will be easier but I've never used one. I have a Pro Mini ready for the task

Any advive

My weight is also bent when removed but I found if I held it firmly in place so flat then screwed it in tightly it was fine. I'm sure you would have noticed but are you certain it's screwed in fully?
Yeah, I screwed it on nice and tight, but it's still protruding in the middle. Guess I'll try and figure out a way to fix it.
Did you guys got any tracking numbers? The boards have been marked as shipped for a couple weeks now.
Yeah, I got the automated email from paypal when the label is created.
